Just Friends?

End of the day

Upper West Side, New York (A/N: I don't recall the location said to be where Ariana lives in this, but this works)

Ariana POV

I just got home from work and it is around 9pm. I was dropped off by my one of my bodyguards, Don. The ride home was pretty great, sometimes he's up to singing to the radio and today was one of those times.

I noticed the lights were on inside. The only people who have keys to my place are Y/N (I know we haven't been back together long, but I trust him with my life) and my mom. My mom was just on the phone with me, she's in Florida right now. So that rules out her.

As I step into my place, I hear music going and I lay my stuff down. I'm greeted by my amazing adorable pets. It's the best feeling to have them happy about your presence.

Y/N walks out wearing a dirty apron. He has a glass of wine in his hand. "Hey! How was your day?" He asked, as he handed me the glass.

"Work is work, but I love it. We worked through a few songs, but by bit. How was yours?" I said.

"It was pretty awesome! I met new people and the lectures seem intimidating, but challenges are good," he told me and then continued to say, "I have food made up for you, thought you would probably be hungry. We can watch some TV in bed if you want, while you eat?"

"That's sounds great." I say and immediately go to hug him. He makes me so happy. "I'll go wash up and get ready for the night, and you meet me up there?"

We went our separate ways. I got ready for bed, cleaned up my face and changed to night clothes. Once I got out, I went out of my ensuite and looked to see him laying in bed. Toulouse had gotten up to cuddle Y/N.

I went over and sat down beside them, picking up my food. The TV was on, RuPaul's Drag Race was on!!! "Ooooo is this a new episode?!" I said excitedly.

"I believe so. Figured you would want to watch it," he said with a smile.

I took a bite of the food and instantly got the different flavours that came together so well. Y/N doesn't necessarily understand why I choose to be vegan, but I know he's worked a lot on making different vegan food. "This is awesome!" I leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

I continued eating and occasionally drinking my glass of wine. I was enjoying TV, Y/N, food, and the night. Coming home to this after work is a dream come true. This is what makes me think of marrying him. I can't really go into that with him, yet. It's a bit early since everything has been pieced back. But oh my god, I can really see us working for a long time. Hopefully!

"I think I've worn a dress like that before," he said pointing to the screen.

"Really?" I said with a smile of surprise.

"Yeah, when I was 15 and Ellie, Nico and I were hanging out we decided to all dress up. Ellie was going for more 'masculine', while Nico and I went for more of a 'feminine' look. There's many pictures and looking back on it, none of us understood makeup." He said with his eyes twinkling, which emphasized how happy he was about the memory. "Oh! I wore heels too! They kill! I did run in them though. I was thinking about how they run in them, in the movies. So why not try it out? Parts of my feet bled a bit thought. Yeesh."

As I finished eating, I was going to bring it downstairs. Y/N quickly got up and held out his hand for the dishes from my meal. "I will be right back." Damn, I'm being pampered.

While he was gone, I did the last bit of my night routine and then hopped back into bed. I think he's staying the night. I assume he is. I hope he is. It's been four days since we've gotten back together.

We he entered the room again, he looked at me unknowingly and rambled a bit, "Um, so I don't know if you're good with me staying. It's totally cool if you're not. But, I can stay if it's cool. All cooool."

"Get in bed," I said demandingly with a fake serious face, which turned into a smile.

"But is that a yes or no?" He said looking confused.

"Oh my.... Yes dumbass," I told him.

"Yay! Wicked!" He said. "I got my stuff here ready for tomorrow, it's downstairs in a small duffel bag, just in case you were good with it."

Y/N got under the covers and turned to face me. "Can I tell you about my day?" He said with a smile like a little kid being excited, that pure happiness. I nodded my head. "Okay." He looked as if he need some preparation.

"Well this morning, you obviously met Dani. Oh. I should probably start from last night then. So yesterday night, at the party, I met her and we left the party to go on an adventure. It really turned out to be us driving around to find a place for food. Then we went back to my place and ate it. We talked most of the time, laughed a lot. Had a good time. Watched something but I can't quite remember. Oh well. Then passed out. Then the next day came and I woke up when you arrived. Bam!" Y/N started the first part of his retelling of the recent past.

"Okay. So she's a med student like you. Is she in the same year as you?" I asked.

"Yeah she's in her first year too. She's seems super smart! Like book brain power on 110/100. Anyway, today her and I stopped by her place first. It's close by campus. I was waiting for her to get ready and then all of her roommates woke up. Scared me and scared them. I almost got kicked out and locked out. Then when they got that I was with Dani, they thought we slept together. Clarified that they're assumptions were wrong. Dani and I left, went to campus and figured out the class we were going to. We were the first ones there and so we tried to pick the best seats. I thought they were pretty good but she got annoyed by the guy chewing gum behind us." He continued and then stopped to breathe a bit.

"Then we went through our classes until we got a bit of a break for lunch. I met Bea, Atticus, and Ana. They're pretty cool! All first years like Dani and I. We're thinking of making a study group! So then, went through more classes. Oo! Oo! One of my classes was pretty awesome, the person teaching seems so great and energetic. Makes you wanna smile while learning kinda thing! Soooo, then everything ended with classes. I met up with Bea, Dani, Atticus, and Ana and we walked around campus to map out good study areas. Then we went to one of them and studied for a few hours. Then I went home and had an hour nap. Uh then I made food for Gia and Paco. We watched some TV together. Gia and Paco went of to their rooms for the night, and I came over to your place. Cooked some food and waited for you to arrive. THEN BAM! Day is ending here!" Y/N said, finishing up his recollection. "Now it's time for you to tell me about your day!" He told me with a bright smile.

I went through my day in almost as much detail as him. He was looking at me with the intention to listen to every word I say. Y/N looks at me as if I'm a shooting star. He listens like I'm telling him super important information. He asks certain questions, knowing I really want to talk more about some of the things I'm mentioning.

After telling him all about my day. I lean into kiss him. "Thank you for being you." I tell him. I continue to kiss him and it's getting a bit heated. I know we said slow, no sex yet. But that doesn't mean other things can't be enjoyed. I love kissing him.

I love the feeling of his soft lips. I love his hair so much, it's so curly and adorable. I love the feeling of his touch. Being close with him in the simplest of ways.

After a few minutes, I pull away and he turns off the light on his side, while I do the same on my side. We come back together, I lay my head on his chest, swing a leg over his body and close my eyes as I feel him comfortably wrap his arm around me. "Goodnight Y/NN."

"Goodnight Ari," I hear him say.
