"Wake up, Aspen!" I heard a familiar voice yell, "we're going to be late!"

My eyes fluttered open to see my brother standing by my bedside. I groaned pulling my pillow over my face. Can't I just drop out or something?

"Get. Up." Steve said sternly. He ripped the blanket off of me, exposing me to the cold air. I quickly sat up, bumping my head into Steve's in the process.

"Holy fuck," Steve rubbed his forehead, "I knew you were hard headed but jeez this puts a whole new meaning to it."

I rubbed my head in the same way and glared at my brother. I swung my legs off of the bed and stood to face him. He quickly put his hands up in defense then made his way out of my room.

I looked towards my alarm clock, noticing that I had 15 minutes before school started. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and quickly got dressed. I didn't have time for makeup so I just splashed cold water over my face.

I made my way out of the bathroom and saw Steve sitting in his car outside from the window. Quickly, I put on my shoes and raced out the door with my bag.

"Why did you wake me up soon?" I mumbled grumpily as I got into the car. I must've forgotten to set my alarm last night.

Steve looked over at me as he pulled out of the drive way, "I didn't realize you were asleep." He looked apologetic. I nodded and closed my eyes, lowering myself further in my seat.

"Did you really fall asleep that fast?" Steve's voice broke the silence. I opened one eye and realized we were already at school. I held my middle finger up the in air, towards the general direction of my brother.

I rubbed my face harshly, trying to wake myself up more. Sliding out of the car I noticed that the parking lot was void of any students. School must've already started. I sighed heavily and made my way up to the school.

The first half of the day passed by in a blur, I was too tired to even pay attention to what was going on around me.

"Are you going to be tired all day?" Steve asked as he set his bag on the lunch table. I shrugged my shoulders, not really wanting to answer. I glanced over at Eddie's table and saw everyone adamantly talking.

My eyes locked with brown ones and I could feel the blush rising to my face. He smirked at me before looking back to his friends.

Books slammed down next to me, making me jump.

"Did I scare ya, Harrington?" Billy Hargrove's voice came from beside her. I glared up at him. Billy was handsome, don't get me wrong but he was an asshole.

"Fuck off Hargrove," I replied in a hard tone. I wasn't in the mood to be bothered. He had been trying to talk to me since school started and I've been trying my best to ignore him.

"Don't be like that, beautiful." Billy's voice came off playful. I looked towards my brother who looked over at him in disgust.

"Hargrove, leave." Steve said in a low voice. He wasn't very confrontational, especially not towards Billy. My face formed a small smile at my brothers actions.

"You leave, I need to talk to the better looking Harrington." Billy replied with ease, sinking into the seat next to me. Steve looked down at me in question. I waved him off, curious as to what Billy wants. With a huff, Steve grabbed his bag and stalked off, probably to find Nancy.

"I don't have the patience today Billy, so be quick," I said putting my head into my hands. Billy smiled down at me; even sitting he was taller. I could smell the stale scent of cigarettes and cologne coming from him.
