Movement on the bed startled me awake. My eyes snapped open and I was met with a dark, unfamiliar ceiling. I could feel my breaths deepen as panic arose in me. I slowly turned towards where the movement came from, seeing a sleeping form with their back turned to me. I ran my hands down my body, breathing out a sigh of relief when I realized my clothes were still on. Taking a moment to look around the dark room, I tried to remember the night before. Everything was blurry after I found out Chrissy and Eddie weren't together.

Movement next to me pulled me out of my thoughts, realizing I was still in a strangers bed, I shuffled off the bed in a hurry. Landing on the floor with a thud, I heard the person sit up in bed. I closed my eyes and tried to slow my breathing.

"Aspen?" A raspy voice called from above me. I slowly opened my eyes to vaguely see long curly hair leaning over the bed. I felt my anxiety melt away as I realized who it was. A soft chuckle left his lips as he put his hand out for me to grab. "My fair lady, what ever are you doing on the floor?" His voice was coated with sleep, deeper than it usually was. I smiled sheepishly and grabbed his hand, using it to pull myself back onto the bed. I settled back down into the warmth of the bed and lazily glanced over at Eddie.

He was lying on his back with his hands rubbing over his face. I took in his appearance; his hair was fanned out on his pillow, his eyes slowly fluttered opened and closed. I let my eyes venture further down, he was wearing a plain black t-shirt that hugged his biceps and I could see the dark outlines of tattoos littering his arms. The blanket covered from his waist down, but one of his legs stuck out above it. I could see the navy and black plaid pattern pajama pants covering his leg. Wetting my lips, I softly chewed on my bottom lip at the image in front of me. He flung his arms to rest behind his head and stared forward at the ceiling. I watched as his eyes fluttered shut and his breathing slowly evened out, indicating that he fell back asleep. A small smile sat on my face as I slowly turned on my side to face him fully. Hesitantly, I reached over and brushed some hair that had fallen in his face. He looked peaceful and I could feel my eyes droop the longer I stared at him.

The sound of thunder woke me from my dreamless sleep. I slowly opened my eyes and let them adjust to the low light that flooded the room. Lightning flashed again, brightening the semi-dark room. I glanced out the window that was adjacent to the bed; the sky was a dark grey and rain pelted against the window. Thunder sounded again as I slowly sat up in bed, leaning on my arms for support.

"G'mornin sleepyhead," a gruff voice said from the doorway. A small smirk rested across my face as I turned to meet Eddie's figure. He stood still in the same clothes from last night with his hair in a messy bun being the only difference. He shuffled across the room and held out a coffee mug. Graciously, I took the mug and sipped on it. "I didn't know how you took it so I made it how I make mine," he said staring down at me.

I pulled the cup down and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, "it's perfect, thank you." I softly set the mug on Eddie's nightstand and noticed my clothes from last night sitting on the corner. I raised my eyebrows in surprise, just now realizing I was in different clothing. Noticing where I was staring Eddie spoke up, "I gave you some of my clothes last night to sleep in."

I turned back to Eddie and nodded, "thank you, those were pretty uncomfortable." I tried to remember changing into the clothes he gave me but came up empty handed. "Um— can I use your bathroom? And maybe a toothbrush?" I asked sheepishly. Eddie smiled and nodded, leading me out of the room. He pointed towards the bathroom door and mumbled where there was an extra toothbrush. I quickly used the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Running my hands through my hair, I figured it was good enough.

I walked back into the room to see Eddie staring out the window. He had one of his arms wrapped around his chest and the other one rested on top, playing with his lips nervously.
