Hey everyone. So, the past chapter (Hide and seek) is going to be the end of the first book. I've decided to make a second story, maybe even a whole series. These next few chapters are going to be from Wadim's point of view as he is changed into a creature of the night. Think of it as a sort of another one of the memory chapters. I will be sure to mention when the second book is up for reading! Hopefully, it will be up by the end of this week.
-Young Wadim's pov-
I looked read through my book given to my by my father. Who insisted that such fantasies, are best left to children. I wasn't a child. More like a young adult, who was only sixteen. Not like I had any friends to argue with me about it. My eyes widened at the character actions. Jonathan Harker had just recently discovered Dracula's tomb. The man clearly was as interested in that creature of the night as I was.
"Hey freak." Called a voice taking the book from my hands. I looked up to see Cezar, a cruel and heartless jerk, who had a few extra pounds than any other human being, smirking down at me. "Wha'cha reading?" He asked looking at the cover of my book. The title I guessed was funny to him. As he released a loud laugh. "Dracula, you must be loosing it." He mocked. Tearing out some of the pages of the story. "I think you old lady hair it starting to melt what ever brains you have left."
I shook my head, ignoring him. Using all my strength to keep my anger in check. The bully threw the book, or what was remaining of it at me. Almost knocking me over with it's force.
"I'll be keeping these." He spoke, holding up the remaining parts. "Next time, I expect at least fifty Romanian leu. You understand?" I nodded. My hands formed into fists. The meanest person on earth laughed at my pitiful attempt before taking his leave. Once he was far enough, I re opened the book. Finding all the best parts had been ripped out. I tsked. 'What a immature child.' I thought. While standing up.
I turned to leave. Only to notice one more piece the book blowing past me in the wind. Reaching down my hands grasped it, holding on tightly. Making sure not to loose it this time. Opening it, my eyes widened. This one page, had a complete description on castle Dracula. One word caught my attention, Transylvania. That was where his castle was said to be. An idea struck me. 'Transylvania isn't too far from here.' I thought, as I started to make my way home. With a small skip in my step. 'If I can just get even a moment to speak with him, he may be able to help me. After all, he seems like a good business man. ' My mind planned.
"Tonight." I commented to myself out loud. While looking up at the visible full moon.
----time skip ---------
The bright moon looked down at me, outlining my short purple coat, and black pants. My hands remained in my pockets as I wandered through the abandoned town. Knowing full well what dangers lie within it's shadows. The cold fall breeze ruffled my hair in reassurance. Not that I needed any. I knew what I was doing. That I had to do this. 'Yes,' My mind repeated. 'He is the only one who will understand me. A freak, like me.' I continued on my merry way until the sounds of footsteps began to echo behind me. I stopped, taking in the pounding sounds. My unnatural colored eyes looked behind. Only to find some drunk man had been following me. 'Great' I thought, as I decided to change roots. The mans uneven walking patterns followed closely behind me. As expected.
"Hey cutie~" The man slurred out. "Whats a sweet little girl doing out here all by herself?" I felt my eyes form a glare. 'Did this man really think I was a girl.'
"Sir, I-I lost my older brother, can you walk me home?" Called out an innocent voice. I stopped and turned to see a younger girl. Around the estimated age of ten looking up sadly at the drunk. Of course I didn't miss the look of disgust she had in her eyes. The drunks hand grabbed her shoulder ruffly nearly tipping them both over.
