"Pound it!" The two heroes celebrated the end of another akuma rendezvous with a fist bump. Then came the usual clamor of people, reporters, and journalists. He really couldn't escape the attention in any form. 

Ladybug tapped his shoulder to get his attention. "We should answer a few questions." 

"Alright," 

"Alright, one at a time!" Ladybug announced. She pointed out a random reporter with her hand up. "You," 

The reporter raised the microphone. "When will you reveal your identities to the world?" 

Ladybug put on her most polite smile and replied. "When the time is right even if that's never. Next question!" She pointed out a journalist this time. 

"Hypothetically wouldn't you only need Ladybug to defeat a villain?" He inquired. 

"Excuse me?" 

"You have defeated akumas without using Chat Noir's power. So in theory you are the more important of the two of you. Correct?" 

"Uh, no Chat Noir is just as important to the team as I am. Ne-" Both of their miraculous started beeping. "Looks like we've got to get going. Thank you for your questions, everyone!" 

She swung away as the crowd started up their shouting again. 

Chat Noir started on his way home thinking over the events. He had heard some comments from the Ladyblog about the same thing but hearing it audibly it all became real. How many people thought this way? Did everyone secretly hate him and he had no idea? 

When Adrien had gotten home he immediately went to his desk. He shook the mouse to wake up the screen and went to the search bar. 

'Can Ladybug work alone?'

It only took a few milliseconds for the search results to come crashing in. There were tons of articles and entire websites dedicated to the discussion. More than Adrien had anticipated. He clicked one of the first ones and read the first few lines. 

The writer had done an in-depth analysis of their powers and how they worked. They had examined every akuma they had defeated. They had pointed out every single mistake he had ever made. Only to come to the conclusion that Ladybug could realistically work on her own and should be working on her own. 

Ladybug has everything she needs to both defeat the akuma and restore the damage meaning there is no need for Chat Noir's powers. Plus adding on all the mistakes he has made, akumas would be defeated faster and more effectively without him in the picture. 

Reading the article was a realization. It was like getting his head splashed into freezing cold water after years of being warmed. He really wasn't important.
