Adrien sat at his desk chair staring at the same place in the wall for what seemed like hours. There was an akuma right now but Ladybug could handle it. It was useless to go out if he was going to mess up again.
Instead, he sat and thought. Thought over his whole life. Counting the decisions he had made on his hands. Counting the misfortunes he had caused people.
Being Chat Noir was one of the best decisions of his life but he couldn't do it right.
As Adrien everything he did was right but it wasn't even him doing it. He didn't decide to model or do any of the extra stuff. Let alone do it well.
When he thought about what he liked to do himself there was nothing. He spent so much of his life listening to others that he'd never listened to himself because all Adrien was is a tool.
A tool used by his father, Ladybug, all of Paris. A tool that was tired of working for others and wanted a break. But tools don't get breaks.
Tools only exist for others' benefit, not their own, and one day when the tool is worn down and damaged it gets thrown out. Tools don't get to make their own decisions. Tools don't get lives.
He was a tool.
One that wasn't going to be used anymore.
