Adrien was putting stuff in his locker at school reminiscing on the past few days when he heard someone from the other side of the wall speaking. He faintly recognized the voice but then another voice spoke. This one he recognized as Alya which meant the other voice was probably Marinette.
"You'll be fine,"
"You don't know that Alya. What if I do something stupid again? I don't want this ending like the last nine thousand attempts."
"You won't know unless you try."
"That's the thing Alya is that I have tried and either I mess up or Adrien just calls me 'a very good friend'"
"That is because he just hasn't realized his feelings for you yet. You gotta make him realize."
"Mmm well not today, I have a lot I need to do."
"Alright, we'll get there someday."
The voices faded away as they eventually left the room completely.
Adrien took a few seconds to soak in the conversation he had just heard. Attempts? Feelings? Adrien put the pieces together forming a completed conclusion. Marinette liked him.
Adrien frowned a little. Wasn't he supposed to be happy? Then why was he feeling this way? He knew that she was a close friend, she wasn't like all the fans. It still felt bad though.
He didn't want to hurt her but he also just wanted one person to treat him like a normal person. It sounded stupid but he just wanted a person that would listen to him and spend time with him with no ulterior motives. He just wanted a friend.
