Today was an exciting day. Adrien's father had finally found time out of his schedule to have dinner with him. It was about time so Adrien headed down early out of pure excitement. This would finally be an opportunity to talk and maybe do things like how they used to when his mother was still here.

He stopped by Gabriel's office peeking in. He saw him standing in front of the painting of his mother fixing his tie. Was this supposed to be formal?

He saw a little purple creature next to him that almost looked like...

"I thought you said you were going to akumatize someone today?" The creature asked.

"I was but my son insisted on dinner. Later, Nooroo."

No, this isn't right. He can't be-

Adrien ran to the large dining room as Gabriel started heading for the door. He made it in and found the chair at the end closest to the door.

He watched his father enter the room with poise as he always had and sit down at the other end of the large table.

"Hello, Adrien,"

"Hello,"

The food was brought out with a serving of silence between the two. When Adrien looked forward he saw Hawkmoth sitting in that seat instead of his father. Was this why he wasn't talking as much? Why he shut himself in that office every day?

Adrien knew his father was grieving as much as him but to become what he did and hurt all of those people while at the same time ignoring the only other family he had?

He almost cried right then and there but he didn't. It wouldn't change anything. His father has always been a committed person; nothing he said would change that.

He couldn't look at him anymore. He didn't want the constant reminder.

The constant reminder that his father would rather be taking advantage of people's emotions than being with him.
