Chapter 3:

The pair walked along past Big Ben as they searched for the nearest Starbucks to them. As the iconic clock tower bell chimed 12:00, Dan's stomach made the hugest noise. "I'm sorry, my stomach often turns into a bottomless pit." He said embarrassedly. "It's no problem." Said Phil. "Exactly the same happens to me all the time." The pair walked along, the conversation pausing often and only useless groups of words were spoken. Phil was still wondering how he managed to fall off a bridge, how someone had saved him, and why he was buying this Dan person coffee. They arrived and got their drinks and sat down next to the big glass windows. As they sipped, they seemed to just stare at each other in silence, until Phil finally asked some questions. "Excuse me Dan, but who exactly are you? And how and why did you save me?" Dan looked up from his coffee, and his face resigned from the decision to lie to this person. "Daniel Howell. Like I said." He said calmly. "That doesn't answer my question. How and why did you save me?" "Wouldn't any person save someone who nearly fell off a bridge?" said Dan. "I guess..." pondered Phil. Before the two could utter anything else, a motorbike smashed through the windows, and missed Phil by a hair's width. In shock he fell backwards off his chair and nearly cracked his head open on impact with the floor. The bike lay in a smoking remain on the café floor, and the rider was stood outside staring in disbelief. He had apparently leapt off as his bike's brakes cut out. As Phil clambered back over the chair, he said "I'm getting seriously freaked out by this. Things keep trying to kill me. Are you ok, Dan?" He looked over at the stranger, who was apparently unfazed by the whole incident and was talking to someone on the phone. "Dan? Are you ok?" Phil repeated. "Yes of course. I'll be there as soon as possible". He put down the phone and turned to Phil. "Phil? I need you to come with me. Don't ask me anything until we're out of here". Dan grabbed Phil's hand and dashed out of the restaurant. They turned the corner and stood in an alley between two offices. "DAN! Answer me now! What the hell is going on?" Phil demanded. "Ok. I'll tell you. Stay calm. It's a lot to take in, so bear with me. The thing is this."

A/N: I know it isn't very good at the moment and the chapters are short, but I promise it gets much better. A
