Chapter 10:

Phil, Dan, Chris and PJ were in another lift in the warehouse, one that led to people's rooms apparently. The rooms were on one of the upper floors, and the lift stopped about 3 floors below the roof. The group got out of the lift and walked towards two large doors. "Ok Phil, because we don't want you to get on the wrong side of people, we're telling you now, don't walk through the door on the right. Whatever you do" said PJ. "Why not?" asked Phil. "Girls corridor. When Chris first got here, he forgot that the guys' corridor was on the left and went through that door. He stumbled into my room, trying to claw his eyes out after they had been filled with strong acidic perfume that a girl had sprayed at him after he walked into her room. He's fine now, but just don't let it happen to you" said PJ. Phil looked at the door on the right and made a concrete mental note to never even walk on the right just in case. "Anyway, moving onwards..." said PJ as they went through the left door. "This is our common room. It's where we sit and do nothing. Bliss" said Chris. Phil saw a room with comfortable looking chairs and sofas with a fireplace and portraits. There was a TV, and also, thank god, some consoles. The room was warm, and welcoming, with red walls, and dark carpets. Phil realised he could really get used to living here. "Up this way" said Dan, as the other 3 ran towards the stairs. Phil ran to catch up to them. "In here", said Dan as they got to a door at the very top of the stairs, "is one of the best places in the building. Is your mind prepared to be blown Phil?" He flicked the lock and the door swung open. Phil stepped inside, and his mouth dropped open immediately. The room was huge, with technology in every corner, there was a row of computers along one edge of the room, and TVs hanging from the ceiling. There were two bunk beds along one wall, and on each bed was an iPad. And possibly the best thing in the room, in front of Phil on the far wall was a huge window, looking out over London, like the roof but from the safety of a room. Phil ran to the window and saw London bathed in moonlight, there were sounds of cars going past and parties going on. The moonlight was reflected in the river, and lit up the water like there was a town under the river. Phil was amazed. "So? Was you mind blown?" asked Dan. "100%" replied Phil. "Good. Told you so" said Dan. "Ok. Your bed is the top one closest to the door. Just above me" said Dan. Phil climbed up and lay on the bed. It was the most comfortable bed he had ever laid on. He could feel himself drifting away to sleep. "Guys?" said Phil. "Yeah?" they said back. "I think I might just have to go to sleep now. This bed is too comfortable" said Phil. "I know what you mean" said Dan. "We're planning on sleeping now as well. Today was tiring for us. We do a lot of research here..." Phil didn't hear any more, as he was already in a very deep sleep.

3 hours later...

Phil awoke with a start. He didn't know why, he just did. As he looked up at the ceiling, trying to figure it out, he thought of everything that had happened. Nearly dying 3 times today, meeting these people, meeting Dan... Phil couldn't understand why, but whenever he thought of Dan his heart rate seemed to increase so much, like it was about to pop out of his chest. Did he like Dan? Maybe. But why? Phil tried to figure it out as he went back to sleep.

Dan lay beneath Phil on his own bed. He looked at the mattress above him shift every once in a while. Phil was up there. PJ and Chris were right. Dan had a huge crush on Phil. Dan wanted to climb up there and kiss Phil right now. But Phil would never go out with me, Dan thought. And he probably doesn't swing that way either. Dan felt a bit sad. But he was sure he would get over it. And he fell asleep thinking sweet thoughts of him and Phil...
