Chapter 4:

"What are you talking about?" Phil was more confused every time he looked at Dan. "Listen to me Phil. You have a lot of near death experiences don't you?" Phil tried not to let the look of shock show on his face. How did they know about this? "We've been monitoring you for a while. You have a lot more near death experiences than your average guy." Dan started to explain. "Who's we?" interrupted Phil. "There's a group of us. A group of people who have a lot of near death experiences. We believe that they're somehow planned. It seems so irregular to have so many." "But why have you been watching me?" questioned Phil. "There's something different about you, Phil Lester. Most of us have them, say, every other day? But you? They happen to you almost every day, sometimes more than once. Like today, for example. You've had 2 and it's only 12:30." Said Dan suspiciously. "But what's so special about me? Of all the people who could have near death experiences this much you decide to watch me. Why? I'm a really clumsy person." You're not listening to me Phil. I'm not talking about tripping over a rock and finding yourself over the edge of a cliff. You were nearly knocked off a bridge by a car and a gust of wind, and then you nearly got torn up by a motorbike that smashed through the exact piece of glass you were sitting by." Dan said, getting impatient. Phil opened his mouth to say co-incidence but Dan then said "You can't call this co-incidence Phil. Every day, sometimes more than twice? There's something going on. Now please, we need to go. Now." Phil was just too overwhelmed. He looked to the sky in the hope that this was some kind of dream and he'd wake up back in his flat in Manchester. As he looked up he saw something glinting in the sunlight. And it was casting a shadow across the floor. A shadow that was moving. Dan looked to see what Phil was looking at and before they knew it, a huge aerial had toppled off the building and was hurtling to the ground pointing right at them. "PHIL! MOVE!" Dan screamed and he grabbed Phil and pulled them both to the floor. The aerial landed next to them and a cloud of dust rose over them, choking them. As it dispersed, Dan said "Please Phil, believe me about this." Phil spluttered an ok, and Dan then said. "Ok Phil. We have an appointment to go to. We've got 15 minutes to get across the river and to the area which I can't tell you the name of yet. Ready to run?"
