Chapter 1: Where it all begins

I walk through school trying to ignore every insult thrown at me. I step into my class with my phone vibrating in my pocket. I check it to find a text from my older brother, Alex.

Alex: hey sis I've heard the rude comments being said during school do you want me to do something about it? Also happy birthday sis

Me: No thanks bro they are stupid they are the ones failing in class while I get A's. Just ignore them also thanks bro.

Alex: Fine just this one time I'll let it go. Next time I'm putting their heads up their ass. your welcome.

Me: lol shut up bro I gtg class is starting

Alex: Bye

Me: Bye

As I put my phone away the bell rings and the teacher is already there taking attendance then starts on college type of articles and questions. I try to answer them to the best of my ability as possible. I look up as there comes a knock to the door. I see my brother's best friend, Jason walk in with an award winning type of smile. Damn he is so hot!

MATE!

Oh fuck. No! No! No!

Jason narrows his eyes at me and says, "Mate."

Everyone is too busy talking to even notice Jason there so he walks to me and hands me my lunch that my brother probably couldn't bring to school since he is teaching. I blush as I take the lunch from him.

Jason leaves the class immediately after handing me my lunch. Not too long after that I get a text from Jason.

Jason: Meet me behind the P.E. building during lunch hour.

Me: Ok.

After that he never text me so I had hard time focusing on my work, damn, Jason.

~Time skip~

It's lunch and I walk behind the P.E. building to find Jason standing there in all his glory but he wasn't smiling, no, he was frowning. I jog to him and ask, "Jason is everything ok?"

He looks at me like I'm stupid and replies, "No I'm not fine you're my mate, Kealani! It's disgusting! You're too young for me!"

"Really?! Is that what this is about?! That's a ridiculous reason, Jason!"

"No it isn't. I'm sorry Kealani but I Jason Martinez hereby reject Kealani Simons."

I feel the pain in my heart increase and it feels like I'm being stabbed a billion times all over. I watch as Hailey the school and pack slut wrap her arms around Jason.

She giggles in her high annoying voice, "Did you actually think that Jason would be mates with you? He's mine loser go back to your studies where losers like you belong." I watch in horror as she kisses Jason and he just lets her kiss him like it's a casual thing, ok that crossed the line.

I run away from my school to my mother's car after I called her. She didn't want to ask me about what was wrong she knew she would only make it worse for me. I listen to my favorite song Ride by SoMo.

As my mom parks the car in our drive way I run to my room and slam it shut then lock my door. I jump on my bed crying and screaming into my pillow. I am so glad that my room is sound proof so no one can hear how much pain I'm in.

I look to the sky as it rains down on my window. I look to my phone and see texts from both Jason and Alex asking me where I am. I sob and cry I can't deal with this shit anymore.

I write a note to my parents, my brother, and my mate.

Dear Mom, Dad, and Alex,

I had been bullied a lot during school and by the pack. I just can't deal with it anymore I'm running away from here. I don't think I ever plan on coming back these people keep telling me that they wish I didn't even exist in the first place.

 I love you all so much I couldn't have asked for a better family.

Alex I know that you are probably beating yourself up knowing that you weren't able to stop this from happening but to be honest you were the best help yet in school. I couldn't ask for a better big brother than you.

 Also to my mate I hope you're happy with the pack slut you hurt me enough to send me off the edge and make me leave my home where I am suppose to be protected from all types of harm. I thank you for making me realize that I need to wake up and face reality you are out of my league and you made it clear when you made out with Hailey. Thanks for ruining all my hopes and dreams.

I leave the note on my bed and have my duffle bags ready along with 500,000 dollars in total that I saved up over the years especially when my grandma gives me extra cash for my birthday and Christmas. I open up my window and jump out landing safely on the ground then I shift and sprint all the way to neutral territory that's 500 miles away from where my old pack's territory was at.

I made sure to mask my scent when I had cut through a river nearby my packs territory.

I paid and made a reservation in a hotel that my uncle owns which was for free, might I add. I love my uncle he is too awesome I also told him to not tell mom and dad where I am at since I used an untraceable phone. I open the door to my suite and take a hot shower appreciating how relaxing it feels. I get dressed in my pajamas and sleep in the cozy hotel bed finally relieved of all the stress and pain that my old pack brought me.
