"Help! Somebody, please!" Keefe cried out.
Sophie was lying down on the floor. Without awareness, she was also controlling the shadows in her bedroom. What was going on, she didn't know. But Keefe had a pretty good guess of what was going on: Sophie was a Shade.
"Foster, you're a Shade!" Keefe shouted at her. "You must have swapped with Tam!! Oh no. I'll be doomed the next time I see him! He must be overpowered now. He— Right, you're unconscious. Sorry."
Everything was dark. All Keefe could see was Sophie's horrified face.
I have to make something! Keefe thought to himself. Maybe I could create a gadget that would put Foster to sleep. Then I'd tell Grady and Edaline what's going on. They could wake her up tomorrow. I bet by then, everything will be back to normal.
So that was what Keefe went with. He clapped his hands to turn on the lights—he had been in this room enough to know how to work them—and got to work. He searched for anything that could be of use. As he was scouring for anything remotely useful, Sophie screamed at least five times. The lights kept turning off, no matter how many times Keefe clapped. Sophie must have been doing it. (A/N: No duh, Sherlock.)
Just then, the door burst open and Grady emerged. Light from outside of the door came in and Keefe could finally see.
"I heard screams!" Grady said. Then he saw Sophie fidgeting on the ground, covered in shadows, despite the light that was in the room now. "What did you do TO MY DAUGHTER?!" Grady shouted, his hands going crazy. It looked like he was trying to mesmerize Sophie into laying down. It worked. She was in her bed, sleeping calmly in no time.
"Ohh," Keefe said. "I should have found you and told you to do your Mesmer thing.... I feel a bit stupid now—"
"You should," Grady responded. "You need to leave. I don't know what's going on but I'll wake her up later and ask her myself."
"I didn't do anything!"
"Maybe you didn't, but she needs rest. I suggest you go."
"But—"
"Leave before I make you!!!" Grady shouted. (A/N: He's such a protective dad <3)
So Keefe bolted out of there. When he reached the first floor, he pulled out his home crystal and leaped away.
A/N: How was it? Sorry about the short chapter. The next one's gonna be in Tam's point of view and it'll be SUPER interesting.
No shout-outs today! There will be a bunch soon :))
This is your chance to take a break and stretch for a few minutes! See ya!!!
