«Brown guilty eyes and little white lies.»

Sloane was, in nice words, everything Aurora was not; and not exactly from a jealous perspective. They were so different from one another, it was kind of illogical how they even managed to become best friends. The way Aurora viewed Sloane, was the same way Sloane viewed Aurora. For Aurora, Sloane was the poster girl; she was so beautiful and nice, such an easy-going girl who could meet anyone and make them fall in love with her. For Sloane, Aurora was the closest thing to an angel. According to Sloane, whoever met Aurora would get the best sentiment in the world; because, for her, she was almost perfect.

They were different, but they were best friends. When Aurora had gotten the job for Ferrari, the first person she called to celebrate with wasn't any of her parents, it was Sloane. And it had been the job that started it all. Someone could say that Sloane and Charles met because of Aurora, but she merely invited Sloane to the club the day she met Charles. Then the rest was history.

"I have a few campaigns here so it's been great." Aurora smiled as Sloane told her what had been up with her. "And what have you been up to?" Sloane raised an eyebrow, looking briefly at the camera before resuming her cooking.

Certain topics weren't mentioned since that one weekend. They weren't exactly forbidden, but Sloane didn't seem comfortable enough to share the full story yet, and neither did Aurora dare to ask Charles about it. It was like the name Charles was banned from her conversations with Sloane, and the name Sloane was banned from her conversations with Charles. Aurora was okay with that; none of whatever happened with them was her business, but the doubt would always be there.

"I got a bit sick." She showed her the pills she'd been taking. "But it's been alright. I'm home for the weekend, but will have to fly to England after that." Aurora explained, making a face. She hated the weather in England.

Sloane chuckled. "Seems pretty moved." Aurora nodded. "I miss you." Her best friend gave her a smile, getting closer to the camera.

"Oh, I miss you so much more." Aurora made a face. Generally, when she was sick, Sloane always took care of her. But now she was on her own. "You left me." She complained, and Sloane stuck her tongue. "And who knows when will I ever see you again." Aurora dramatized, getting a laugh out of Sloane.

Truth was, just as she didn't get to know when Sloane left for New York, Aurora didn't know if she would ever be back either. Her friend's dream had always been to travel to America and get the opportunity to pursue her modeling career in a more serious light than what her luck would allow her in Europe. It was bound to happen, Aurora just assumed Sloane's relationship with Charles was a big part of why she hadn't left yet.

Not that he was somehow holding her back from taking any opportunity, but they seemed to be too attached to each other to even consider being that far apart. Guess Aurora was a bit wrong in some perceptions of their relationship.

Because it was none of her business.

"Pretty sure there is a race in America in the next months," Sloane said, acting like she didn't know exactly the schedule.

Aurora wouldn't make the topic uncomfortable for her. "In October, but that's Texas." She rolled her eyes. There was no way she could pay a little visit to Sloane before traveling to Texas for the race.

Or maybe she could if she organized herself well enough. There was no way Sloane would go to the race, not if Charles was there.

"So you travel here the weekend before the race, and then take a flight to Texas from here. Your little Italian bosses can't stop you from seeing your best friend, can they?" They technically could, but she wouldn't say that.
