Chan was sitting comfortably on the couch with his MacBook on his knees and headphones in his ears, while working on a new project. He briefly caught Seungmin's friendly grunts, lying in the poofs with Hyunjin, busy biting each other gently and playing together. Minho was leaning against him, his cheek crushed against his biceps, while playing Animal Crossing on his old DS. He heard a door behind him suddenly open, surprising him slightly. Changbin passed in his vision, heading towards the window that opened to the front of the house. The young man stopped, observing through the glass, seeming to expect something.

The pack's alpha pulled out his headphones, seeing that Seungmin and Hyunjin had already stopped playing to also focus on the second alpha of their pack.

"Binnie?" Chan gently asked.

The pack's alpha wasn't worried. Changbin sometimes acted in strange ways, but he assumed that it was the way he was raised and what he had experienced in his former pack that had shaped this behaviour. It happened that his inner wolf captures things, even minimal, while Chan's one ignored them, too accustomed.

However, he didn't get an answer, while the other man was still looking out the window. It was certainly not usual. Growling slightly, he placed his computer on the coffee table before rising. Disturbed, Minho hissed with anger at him before falling back on the other side of the sofa to continue playing, clearly ignoring the scene that was unfolding in front of him.

God, what was he gonna do with those two. It had been a week since Changbin wanted to challenge Minho on a trivial decision. Chan usually let them. The two wolves were stubborn in their own way, and the pack's alpha preferred to let them settle their differences alone, rather than impose on them his vision of things. He only intervened when things got out of hand or the cold became too long.
He will deal with it tomorrow. Changbin's behavior was more urgent at the time.

Chan approached the second alpha, settling next to him. He quickly observed Changbin's concentrated expression before doing the same, trying to capture what the other had felt.
He heard the strong wind outside, the squealing of the snow, and the sound of the branches colliding. Occasionally, the cracking of the wood on the porch, or the squeaking of the swing. However, nothing else came to him. It was quiet.

"Changbin? What do you hear?"
"Nothing... That's the strange thing."
"Explain yourself."
"My wolf yells at me to go outside, but there's nothing. I don't understand."

Chan looked at him, perplexed. His own wolf told him nothing, except the feeling of protection he felt every hour of the day.

"A howl of danger?" Chan asked carefully.
"No, it's different than usual... It's more... soft and warm."

The pack's leader lets a grunt of understanding escape him. It sounded more like protection than danger. But protect who?
He turned his head towards the others, quickly recounting the number of his pack. A habit he had taken to reassure himself.
Everyone was here, so why was Changbin's instinct triggered?

Suddenly, the other alpha approached the window with his fists clenched.

"I have to go to see!"
"Wait! Binnie!"

But it was too late. The other alpha had already reached the door, putting on his sneakers in a hurry. Chan watched him pass through the door just as quickly, barely taking care to close it. The pack's alpha also threw himself at the door.

"Binnie! Put on a jacket at least!"

He was already gone.

"You're in a tank top.... Rah!"
