Josephine's pov
We're finally home with AJ. He's a quiet baby, loves naps, and attachment to people. It doesn't matter who it seems. Bucky smiles holding him as we walk in the door "welcome home bud" I'm engaged. A year or so ago I would've laughed in your face if you told me I'd have a baby and an engagement and the later isnt with Steve but the child is and the baby's father not by blood but by love and action is Bucky.
I grasp his face and kiss him deeply. He smiles into it and strokes my face with his free hand. I break away with a chuckle feeling AJ make a noise. I kiss his face "well hello to you lil man" Bucky smiles "what was that for? Not that I minded" as we walk upstairs and he bounces AJ to a light slumber. "Because I love you. And just realized that I have everything I've ever wanted in life. And that's thanks to you"
He grins "I'm happy to hear that doll. So happy to hear that." Putting him down lightly in his crib. I kiss my baby's head softly setting up the monitor and Bucky whispers "sweet dreams lil dude" we walk out to the living room and to the couch and he asks me "you okay?" I nod "perfect"
He asks "you sure? No pain? What you did was a beautiful and body taxing thing. You almost didn't make it out. We could've lost you Jo. And that terrifies me so are you okay?"
I kiss him softly and he melts into me and he pulls me into his lap. He pulls away "everytime I close my eyes...I just see you there pale and bleeding and I couldn't do anything" I make him look at me and I tell him "I'm okay james. It's going to take a bit to be 100% but I'm okay. I'm going to heal. AJ and I are here and we're okay" he smiles "you've honored me by giving that little sweet boy my name. By saying yes to my proposal. I love you both so much" I send him a smile "and I love you james so much. You...you saved me from myself" he smiles "I hope I make it all worth it. And give you and that little boy the life you and he deserves" I reply "you already do" kissing him softly.
