I opened my eyes and crawled out of the bed to look out the window, into the woods.
I need to know who that girl was, I can't wait any longer.
I pulled on some clothing and looked in the mirror, I haven't worn a skirt in forever! I pulled my hair from the pony tail I had put up yesterday and my hair fell out into a big mess of brown and blonde. I brushed it out and sprayed it with some anti static spray, the stuff I love so very much! I grabbed a knife from under the bed and opened the door, closing it behind me and running down the stairs. I stopped at the bottom and looked around, no one's up?
I looked at the clock above the fire place, 8:48. Maybe they're having breakfast.
I walked to the front door and silently opened it and closing it carefully behind me. I turned around and starred straight into the woods, she is somewhere out there, I can't help but feel I need to find her.
I walked into the woods and looked around. she's got to be further in.... think! Where was I yesterday? I ran to the spot where I had first seen her and stopped, I looked behind the tree she had hid behind and followed the direction of which she had ran away. I followed the footprints she had left behind the day before. I stopped in front of a shed in the middle of the woods, she could be living here.
Slowly, I walked around the side of the barn and peeked around the corner to finally see what I've been searching for.
She's laid out on the ground leaning up against the side of the shed with a rodent of some sort in her lap. her hair being a lighter shade of blue and she seems to be softly snoring.
I knelt down beside her and poked her arm, "I can't go back." she mumbled in her sleep but didn't wake. I poked her again and this time her eyes slightly opened and closed again. They opened wide as she noticed this was reality and she looked me right in the eyes.
"You're the girl from yesterday, you were trying to return me!" What is she accusing me of?
"I wasn't trying to return you anywhere, I was just looking around the woods when I saw you." She narrowed her eyes, showing no sign of belief.
"I was curious as to who you were, that's all. I didn't, nor do I now, plan to return you anywhere." Her muscles relaxed a bit but I could tell she was still weary of me.
"What's your name?" She looked down on me, waiting for an answer.
"Lapis, and yours?" She eased up and sat down beside me, "Ross."
"Where did you come from?" I should probably tell her, she won't trust me if I don't.
"I come from the mansion just beyond the trees to the north." She nodded and continued to look at me, "you're a proxy." I nodded and she smirked, "I don't see why everyone says yes to Slender, he won't kill you." I narrowed my eyes in confusion, "how to you know?" She chuckled.
"He offered me a room in the mansion after I died." She turned him down?
"So you turned him down?" She nodded, answering my question.
"I didn't want to become a proxy, I didn't need to. I knew I was going to kill again but killing people for fun just didn't seem right. it's like a need for me, I can't go without killing. everyone over there... they kill for fun. I kill because of this other side of me." wow! That's all I can think is, wow! I just sat there silently.
"Have you killed anyone yet?" I shook my head, no one's taken me out yet.
"Good, if I were you... I'd put it off as long as possible. killing isn't some game of monopoly, it's something, I can't even find the right words to explain. Just, trust me... it isn't all fun and games." I nodded again, still unsure of what to say.
"Did you die?" She looked up from the twig she had been messing with and looked me in the eye.
"Yes, I was imprisoned and all i could think about was escape. I one day made the run and got stabbed on the way out, but what I did to him wasn't nearly as bad as what he did to me... I'd rather not say how I killed him, but I did, and I did escape but it had cost me my life. but somehow... I woke up... in the middle of the woods... in complete darkness, and that's when Slender man had offered me the room in the mansion. I had declined, unable to bear the thought of killing innocent people, yet I still kill to satisfy this killing sensation." Damn, she must have had an awful death! She looked back down at the twig, "so how'd you die?" I was silent for a moment before answering,
"I was just on a date, we went to the top of a cliff and.... he was trying some things that I didn't want to try and when I pushed him away and pushed me off the cliff where I fell to my death. Soon, I woke up to a doctor, two or three nurses, and my parents all with disbelief relevant in their eyes.... they told me I had been dead for I don't even remember how long... London, my twin brother, had died at the same time and woke up at the same time. it was like there was a link between us, so we ran into the woods, we met up with slender, and I think you can piece the rest together." she nodded, "that sucks... do you ever just wish you could go back and change that night?" I chuckled, "I haven't really thought about it since then." She just sat there and played with the twig.
"Sometimes I just wish I could be normal for one night."
"Yeah." I can't think of anything else to say....
"It's been cool talking to you, and I'll be back sometime soon." she smiled and stood up along with me,"that'd be great. I don't have many people to talk to around here." I smiled and waved goodbye.
She seems like a good friend.
