He looked at me shocked and probably majorly grossed out. My eyes were obviously set to my human color since I was near him. I stared at him terrified, I knew I had blood all over me. Worse thing to see out of all of this was the poor squirrel in my hands that looked like it had a C section. I was Busted, and I don’t mean your mom just found out you stole a cookie from a cookie jar, no, I mean that one of your friends has just found you in the woods eating a poor beaten up squirrel, that’s what I mean by busted.
I ran, when I mean I ran I mean I ran like hell.
I skimmed past the trees in vampire speed, I wasn’t thinking I just had to get out of there before he started asking questions. I heard him slightly say, “Nessia wait!” But it was very faint, I could only make it out barely because of my insanely amazing hearing I have for hunting.
I ran home, I was a scared vampire feeling full trying to get home without anyone seeing her. When I finally got home I was pretty sure I lost all the weight from the blood I just drank, so instantly I was hungry again.
Austin texted me like he was being murdered and he needed help, it was constant and fast. He wrote things like, “What the hell was that?!” “Can you tell me why you had blood on you?!” “How’d you even get in the forest?!” and so on. I knew that if I didn’t reply it would seem suspicious, so I made sure to reply to them all.
When he asked, “What the hell was that?!” I answered simply, “What the hell are you talking about?” When he asked , “Can you tell me why you had blood on you?!” I said, “Seriously Austin what are you saying?”
When he asked , “ How’d you even get into the forest?!” I answered , “What forest, Austin, are you ass texting again?”
I am a good liar, even by text. The trick is to manipulate people to talk about something else. Like if Austin asked if I was a vampire I would say something like, “Why? Do you think I look like anyone from Interview with a Vampire?” You see a simple misdirection. Yes, I am teaching you how to lie.
But of coarse Austin didn’t believe my lies for a second. By the way the method above does not work on parents, best friends, and people who think you’re a vampire.
I didn’t know what to do, I mean I hang out with Austin, talk to Austin, text with Austin, study with Austin, I mean like what am I suppose to do on Monday if I can’t handle the weekend!
I waited for anyone to get home to help, I just wanted help. I knew I made a huge mistake going out hunting that day. It made Austin searching for answers for weeks, and I was scared that within those weeks was finding out the secret of me being a non heart beating monster.
It finally happened after two hours of Austin texting and waiting. Maky came home. I ran to the door vampire speed and hugged her so hard I think her lungs looked like they were hugging each other. I finally released from the hug of doom. Maky started panting from my suffocating hug .
“What was that for?” She asked out of breath. I was scared to come clean, but it was the only way I could get help from my mistake.
“Maky something really, really bad happened!” I said ready to tell her the truth.
“What happened?” She asked. I spilled out. I told her everything that happened, I was ready for the advice to come out. After my story she looked at me, not like I was stupid for going out on my own to hunt, but her stare was sympathetic and loving. We sat in the kitchen when she said, “Well it seems like you have your ass in deep.” I nodded, I just wanted her to say something involving mind erasing or a baseball bat or something.
