Tricked by a Mortal

I looked at him as if he just asked if I was pregnant. I came here to talk to my old friend not to get into a heated fight about a mystery that I knew the answer to.

“Austin,” I said with my mouth wide open.

“Now really listen to me Nessia.”

                “You lied to me Austin!”

“I didn’t lie I wanted to fix things between us!”

                “With lying!”

                “….It helped.”

“Austin I told you once and now I’ll tell you twice, I can’t tell you what happened!”

“That’s what makes me want to know more!”

                “Austin!”

“Sorry! But Nessia please! I’ve been having nightmares about that day!”

“I’m sorry about that Austin, but I can’t and won’t tell you!”

                “Nessia, please!”

“No Austin, I’m sorry.” I jogged towards my car and quickly drove away.

I was pissed off. Austin set me up! He lied the best lie I’ve ever heard, so good I could even recognize it.  I ignored Austin’s texts, calls, emails, and facebook messages for the rest of the summer.

It was weird not going to Day of Age that year. I was alone with Dan and Carol that day because Julia and Maky both went. I wanted to go to the Stadium anyway to support them, but I remembered the amazingly gross smell of vampire blood flooding my intense senses, I needed a break for that easily vomit cause reek. Plus Zack went with to cheer both of them on.

They both survived thank the lord. And I made the cake for the mini party of surviving Day of Age. When they came home Maky was far ahead of Julia and Zack.  When Julia and Zack came in they were holding hands.  I found out why Maky stayed far away from them. They acted like Julia just got proposed to.  They were so lovey dovey and really gross for singles like me and Maky. For Carol on the other hand she thought it was the most romantic thing.

It was the beginning of school, again.  I fixed my concept on how to deal with Austin. Ignore, ignore, ignore. And if that doesn’t work I have no plan B.

The first day of school was just as bad as I expected or even more. Guess who was in all of my classes again.  Austin.  In every class the awkwardness increased intensely. A fight in every class gets very repetitive after a while.  Austin knew I was pissed, I knew that he was frustrated, and every teacher in my classes found that out as well.

I was at home like I usually was. It was Friday of the first week of school. I’ve gone through hell the last five days.  And I had to do this until the end of the school year. I had a few more weeks to go. Julia had Zack over as usual. They were seriously lovey dovey. Every time you would look over your shoulder at them they would ether be making out or snuggling gone wild.  It was really gross for singles like me and Maky. Then again Tara was there. I guess you could say that they are Best Friends Forever. They were always talking about random people, tests, back to school shopping, weekend plans, and so on.

I was the awkward girl  that day. Everyone that was in our “group” expected me to go out with Austin at some point, but everyone seemed to understand that me and Austin are not going to hook up anytime soon.
