A threatening curse looms over the kingdom of Burgess causing the king's power to spiral out of control and his subjects to repeat the same season over and over again until he finds a woman who'll fall in love with him. All his attempts a...

Black scales. That is the first thing Elsa caught a glimpse of when her and Jack had made it to the rooftop where Hiccup stood impatiently, awaiting their arrival.
The more the proximity between them and Hiccup decreased, the better her line of vision became. To her amazement, a large creature that was being held back by Hiccup pierced her with its emerald-green eyes. At first, she found it difficult to make out what kind of species it was but its set of wings — one main and one smaller pair near the base of his tail — were huge and kept flapping with excitement. On the left side of his tail, the fin seemed to be missing and replaced with something that replicated a mechanical fin, she wondered what had happened and the rather large scar on its right shoulder and neck made Elsa wince.
Her stunned expression led both the men to be even prouder of their beloved dragon.
"Elsa, meet Toothless." Hiccup said, holding on tighter to the reins when the dragon started moving in a hyper manner at the mention of his name.
"Our most trustworthy dragon," Jack added, winking at Toothless who flashed the King what could be perceived as a smile.
Hiccup rolled his eyes, "Our only dragon." He emphasized.
Elsa went closer to the dragon, petting him lightly, relishing in his reaction. "Wow, he's beautiful. Where did you find him?"
Her question unknowingly altered the air around them to a state of dull and gloomy. The sudden change didn't go unnoticed by her and she was quick to reprimand her words, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. You don't have to answer, that was extremely inappropriate of me."
The Royal Guard shook his head in a dismissive manner, "It's quite alright. You've told us of your own life experiences — some of which were extremely personal to you — it only seems fair that we do the same. So to answer your question, Your Highness, I actually found Toothless when I was a little boy. You see, my family was fairly small — it was just my father and I. My mother died when I was young and my father died shortly after, serving the kingdom. He too had been a Royal Guard for the Frost Family."
Jack gave a half-smile, clearly this topic was a sensitive one for him as well. "He was truly the best guard that Burgess had."
"Yeah, no offence taken." Hiccup joked, "After his death, I felt so alone and would spend most of my time at the Silver Lake Forest which happens to be near the castle. You should visit it when you can but one day, I heard continuous wailing and decided to approach what I presumed was an animal. To my surprise, I find a dragon. Not just any dragon but a Night Fury — a rare breed indeed."
"His fin had been severely injured because someone had tried taking him down with a Mangler. I was able to make him a new fin but it took a while for him to adjust into it. After that, I expected him to leave but he came back everyday and just sat beside me. Then I made an impulsive decision and recklessly started riding him to see if I could train him and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a shit ton of injuries from that. But long story short, the castle took note of the suspicious activity and caught me with Toothless. When King Nicholas saw what was going on, he welcomed the both of us with open arms and basically raised me. Turns out they were looking for me ever since my father's death because him and the King were close friends but I was the one shutting everyone out. I also realized that Toothless didn't just become my friend. He became the friend who gave me my purpose... until I met Jack that is."
