Dipper woke up to the sound of his alarm later that morning. He felt the pain in his chest from his surgery scar, but decided to wait to take his painkillers until after he ate, as taking painkillers on an empty stomach can make you sick. (True story, I once took an ibuprofen at school on an empty stomach and started puking my guts out. Make sure you eat food first)

He managed to get to the kitchen where Stan had already prepared him a breakfast.

"Morning kid." Stan said, handing him a plate with a breakfast sandwich on it.

"Morning, and thank you." Dipper replied.

"How are you feeling?" Stan asked as Dipper sat down.

"The scar hurts, but other than that...I'm honestly not sure." Dipper answered.

"I guess it will be more obvious how you feel when you see him." Stan said.

"Well, then I won't have to wait long." Dipper said, taking a bite of his food.

"You're going to school today?" Stan asked.

"Yeah, Ford is driving me." Dipper said, between bites. Stan frowned.

"Be careful kid. Take it easy." Stan advised. Dipper nodded and finished his breakfast, thanking Stan before heading out to Ford's car, where Ford himself was waiting for him.

When Dipper got to school he went to the main office to turn in his doctor's note, where they emailed his teachers that he wasn't to participate in strenuous activities.

The office attendant gave him back the note once she finished and Dipper decided to head to his locker to grab his books for his first couple classes.

On his way, he ran into Bill. Literally, causing Bill to drop his backpack.

"Oh, woah, sorry man, I shouldn't have been- wait a minute...Pinetree!? What are you doing here!?" Bill asked. Dipper leaned down and picked up Bill's bag, handing it to him.

"I felt ok this morning so Ford said I could go to school. I have to take it easy though. My surgery scar still hurts." Dipper admitted. Bill put his hand out gesturing for Dipper to give him something.

"What?" Dipper asked.

"Your backpack. Hand it over. I'm carrying it for you." Bill said. Dipper felt a strange feeling in both his head and his chest but he ignored it.

He sighed.

"Fine." Dipper conceded and handed over his backpack.

"I'm guessing your books are in your locker?" Bill asked.

"Yeah, am I allowed to carry those?" Dipper asked.

"Absolutely not." Bill said. Dipper sighed again and the two boys walked to Dipper's locker together.

Dipper realized that looking at Bill, he felt no attraction towards the blonde male. Not like when he used to. He was honestly confused on how he fell for him in the first place, or fell for anyone for that matter. How does love even work? (Seriously, how does love work. I need an answer. I am dating my first girlfriend ever and I don't understand it but I love her so much)

They arrived at Dipper's locker, Bill insisting that he unlock it for him, since Bill had known the code for ages. Once they got his books, the two boys walked to their morning shared class.
