It took about 20 minutes to finish the dinner. I chatted to Axel through most of it, but still spoke to Lia. She seemed to notice Wave being on edge. I thought about talking to Wave, but I knew she was in no position to want to speak with me right now. I did try to be nice though. I offered her some of my ice cream, but she declined. Lia still wanted to speak to her sister, however. She placed her hand on the table, attempting to hand Wave some bread, looking sympathetically at her.

"Hey... you okay?"

Wave stared at her for a moment, but pushed her hand down, swatting away the bread. She smiled fakely.

"Really." Wave said. "I promise I'm fine."

Lia wasn't about to take no for an answer. She scooched her chair closer to Wave. Wave reacted in surprise.

"I know when you're not feeling well. Seriously, what's up?"

Wave grumbled, giving a fierce stare at her sister.

"Stop it. I'm fine. Besides, even if something was wrong, it wouldn't be any of your business."

Lia poked her sister in anger.

"See! That automatically tells me something's wrong! So cmon, spill it already!"

Wave was at her breaking point. She got up, slamming her hands on the table. She glared at her sister.

"Enough. You don't need to know a thing."

Lia got up with the same glare.

"I'm your sister. It's your obligation and sole duty to speak to me about your issue-"

"Damn!"

She was cut off by Wave's yelling. Immediately after she said this a giant crack sound went through, as shards of ice from the cerulean igloo broke into millions of pieces all around us. Wave jumped up, grabbing her sister tightly. She slammed Lia onto the ground, then swiftly got up, her left eye lighting up. She floated in the air, releasing a sonic wave from her hands using her power. A screeching sound was heard halfway, but was taken off prematurely by her scream. The shadowy figure that had broken the shards punched her in the gut, sending her slamming into the snowy ground.
I got up from my seat in unison with Axel, realizing the intensity of the situation. I activated my speed, charging towards the freak. Axel reached his hand out, and his shadows went flying. He shot me into the air using them, and I initiated a power blast. It was insane to me how he thought of such a strategic move simultaneously with me. The power blast released, but the figure moved put of the way in time. He suddenly appeared behind me, and he cocked the trigger on his weapon. When I looked behind me, I froze. He had a gun, pointed straight at me. He got ready to pull the trigger. Lia managed to get up, jumping in the air and speeding me out of the way just in time. I landed to the ground, scraping my arms against the snow, on my knees. Wave struggled to get up. It was obvious the enemy had hit her hard. But there was still the issue of Axel. I rushed towards him, attempting to maneuver him out of the guns field if view. I would've air dashed out of the way earlier, but I still haven't mastered my powers, so I need to make saving him count. The figure smirked, and the gun bullet released. I continued charging, fast as could. I then felt a push against my torso, and I looked back. Lia pushed me forward. The boost bought me enough time to grab Axel. The bullet narrowly avoided me, only an inch away. I went back to where Lia and Wave had gathered. It was our only vantage point. I looked over at Lia.
"Okay, what's the plan?"
Axel pulled me over to him.
"We don't know anything about this opponent. That means we can't start strategizing-
"Hi-ya!"
A loud yell was heard. Me and Axel looked over and sighed-- it was Lia. She had gotten in the air, getting ready to deliver a kick at the figure. He reloaded the gun, but it wasn't fast enough to hit Lia. But he still attempted to fight. He used his weapon at the last minute in a melee form, pounding it at her face. She was sent back down, and Axel caught her with his shadow. Wave continued to struggle. As of now, we decided to leave her out of the strategizing. He shot out another bullet, the sound rippling across the icy wasteland. The bullet zoomed, and it just managed to avoid us. We had to think of a plan fast, or we'd be destroyed. The figure finally showed its face not soon after. He slowly walked out in front of us. He had blue hair, with a scar covering his right eye. He wore a sleeveless T-shirt, and had blood covering his entire body. He held a gun in his right hand. He chuckled as he came closer.
"Don't mind the blood. It's just that I finished a job a little while ago and didn't have time to clean up."
His words sinked into all our chests. From what he described, he was like a murderer, which was accompanied by the blood. Axel stanced in a battle position, putting his hand out. Lia
got on her knees, ready to charge. The man had a twisted smile come across his face.
"Really? We haven't even introduced each other."
Axel sent his dark shadow out immediately, attempting to grab the man. He threw put his gun, pointing it at the shadow. The bullet cut it in half, it fading into nothingness. Blood spurted from Axel's hand as he cried our in pain. The man sent a bullet at Axel right after, nearly destroying his chest. Lia thankfully zoomed fast enough, smacking the bullet away with her hand in the least painful part. It was nothing more than a cut to her. He smiled.
"Well, aren't you a fast one. But what will you do-"
The man pulled out a second gun out of nowhere. He pointed the two weapons at both Wave and I. He shot the bullets out at lighting speed.
"--when the odds are against you?"
She panicked. It was difficult, considering that she had to make multiple turns in order to save us. Going in a straight line would be the fastest approach. She rushed towards me, pushing me out of the way. She threw me onto the fertile lightly, racing towards Wave. She made a tight turn around Axel, but their wouldn't be enough time to catch Wave. Unfortunately she hadn't remembered my power, so it would take me a brief second to get up from the ground, which was time I didn't have. I got up quick as I could, and sped towards Wave. A chill was sent down my spine when I felt a tug on my hoodie. The man had caught me.
