Ian breathed shakily, as the attacker stared at him dead in the eye. He had a blue cap over his head, and a yellow badge on top of that. He was a police officer. Lia, Wave, and Axel and I all froze. The police that had been mentioned on the news had come. Before we could get a chance to react, Ian threw his leaf covering his eye on to the ground, it floating in the air. He didn't care if he exposed himself as a Multi-Color anymore. He suddenly teleported at insane speed, zooming at the other side of the room. He punched the officer in the stomach, so hard that it completely destroyed his liver. He was slammed into the ground, a large puddle forming from his blood. A massive and booming explosion echoed across the entire town. We took off our leaves instantaneously, revealing all of us as Multi-Color. Ian widened his eyes in pure shock, stepping back. But there was no time for questions, as the roof was completely broken and destroyed, bricks and rubble being scattered across the broken house. Police officers loaded their guns, bullets filling the room. Taking leadership, I jumped into the air.
"Wave! Protect his mother from anyone that comes in here, and keep healing her no matter what! Lia and Ian! Get out of here and take on the force outside! Axel and I will do the same! We're all gonna split up, so there's no time to waste!"
The bullets zoomed past us, and I sent out a power blast that destroyed the entire squad of police officers, their blood staining across the wall. Ian nodded, grabbing Lia and jumping out of the house using the roof as an entryway. Wave got in position, and checked Ian's mothers heartbeat. She gasped and began shaking, trembling fast. Before leaving, I rushed over to her, wanting to assess the situation.
"She's breathing slowly, but I think I can heal her!"
I nodded, and jumped out along with Axel. The sun began setting with a warm but grim quartz sky. I leaped into the main roadway of the town, with hundreds of police officers rushing us. I stepped backwards, Axel and I facing back to back.
"You ready?" I said.
Axel grunted, which I assumed was a yes. The first officer engaged in close combat, sending a sharp blade at me. I leaped to the side, attempting to land a blow on him. My fist was blocked by his knife, and he cut into it. Blood rushed down it, and continued dripping. He then sent it towards my eye, and I caught it just in time. It cut through the palm of my hand drastically, the blood increasing rapidly. Catching it, I sent it back at the man and he was murdered in seconds, absorbing into the ground. I caught my breath for a brief moment, but this time became limited as a swarm of officers came around me. They shot out bullets at lighting speed, cutting through my chest. I crouched down, avoiding the next wave of them. I sent another power blast from my hands, taking out all but one of the officers. She sent a whip at me, my face becoming red from the weapon. She wrapped my torso around it, capturing me. She smirked in confidence, throwing me into the air and pounding me into the ground. She stomped her foot on my chest with insane might, slowly breaking away my means of oxygen. Axel jumped in just in time, punching her in the neck. She was sent rolling across the ground, being slammed face first into it. The puddle of blood that had emitted from her was the worst one yet. Axel reached his hand out, offering help. I accepted, but he was kicked in the stomach by another horde of enemies. As he was brought down, a bomb was attached to his back, with the timer slowly ticking. I reached out to save him, but my neck was grabbed harshly and I was thrown up into the air. The officer cracked my hands, causing them terrible damage. He pummeled me into a nearby building, as I slammed into the cold, metal ground. He threw a knife, and it cut through my knees, blood now staggering from them. He took this time of pain to furthermore crack my kneecaps, twisting them. I struggled with all my might, crying out with the pain rising with every hit. I used my left leg to kick him hard in the face, in a last ditch effort. He was sent on edge, and I leaped out to release another power blast, with my energy slowly destabilizing. He avoided it swiftly, getting behind me and pulling me back. He pulled a match from his pocket and lit it, sending it towards me. I slipped out of his grasp just in time, and got as far away as I could. My top priority was saving Axel, so I leaped out, climbing the metallic walls. He threw the match onto the ground furiously, and the building began rising up in flames. The heat gradually and unpredictably continuously enveloped the room. The officer jumped out of the way, sending more knives at my chest. Because I would need to watch out for two things at once, I focused my attention on the fire. The knives pierced through my chest slightly, tearing some cloth on my shirt. Blood slightly dripped, but not at an alarming rate. The police officer swiftly jumped back towards me, getting ready for another attack, this time pulling out a chainsaw. The loud gears twisted and turned on the machine as it's sharp piercings came into view. I panicked, stepping back and gripping the wall tight as I could with each swing of the chainsaw. The officer then threw the chainsaw at me, letting go of it with ease. I gasped, avoiding it just in time, with it cutting through the side of my head. The flames burst up in no time at all, coming so close that they began to burn my legs. I struggled to get up, and the officer used this opportunity to shoot 10 bullets into my chest, with each once creating a bigger hole in it. He nearly managed to hit me direct in the heart, but his aim was fortunately just slightly off. Still, blood became spurting out, as I continued losing it, my body getting weaker. He finally came behind me, with a mini gun of 2,000,000 bullets. My eyes widened back as far as they could as I felt the trigger wind up, then release. He chuckled before releasing the trigger.
"I'll finally rid all of you Multi-Color for good."
The bullets came out at light speed with no delay, this time reaching straight to my heart. I could feel pieces of it breaking off with each shot of bullet. I clutched my chest with each one, with almost all the blood of my body being taken out. The pieces of my heart continued shattering on the ground, while the flames rose up to my heart as well, beginning to burn it. It lit a dark ash color, with the blood coming from me becoming a mixture of red and black. The bullets continued moving, with no slowdown at all. I had to do something. I needed to get out. Using my free hand, I emitted a weak power blast from the palm of my hand, having no energy left in me. It was enough to stun the officer, and I slowly walked towards him, gripping the wall the tightest I could. I clutched my right hand to my chest, picking up the pieces of my heart along the way. My only hope of surviving any longer was Wave, but I knew I could die before making it to her. The flames continued bursting, practically burning my eyes now. The officer stared me dead in the eye, beginning to lose his grip on the wall, trembling while doing so.
"W-what the heck are you doing? Stop, don't come any closer, you hear me?!"
I continued breathing heavily, blood falling from my mouth. The officer continued backing away, now in total fear of me. He began to slip off the granite wall, barely managing to save himself. Then right as he took his final step back, I lunged forward, tackling him. I threw him with all the force I had down to the burning and impending fire. His body was turned to ash in an instant, the dust and his remains scattering and being lost to the flames. I held the pieces of my heart close, then began climbing the wall again. I moved slowly, nearly collapsing off of it. I was running out of time. The fire steadily rose, burning everything in it's path. I began climbing faster now, mustering what little strength I had left and multiplying it tenfold. The fire then rushed the fastest it had ever become before, a ticking time bomb. I then leaped and reached out the greatest I had done, with the power I had carrying me forward. Right as the fire practically engulfed me fully, I managed to get out, now sliding on the metallic roof. I spotted Axel, who was almost as bloody as me, holding off against every enemy that had come his way. I then froze in terror as I read the time on his bomb: 0:15 seconds. 15 seconds was all he had before being brutally destroyed with no mercy. 15 seconds was all the time he had before his life would be cut short with no warning at all. I couldn't let it happen. I refused to let it happen. I picked up speed on the roof, using the slopey shape of it to my advantage. Gaining enough speed, I floated high in the air, with my speed limit uncapped. 10 seconds. I reached my hand out now, using the very last spark of my power to send out a booming explosion of a light, azure blue combined with a warm, pink power blast. 3 seconds. It sent the guards crashing against the ground, their faces being buried into it. Blood splattered and splashed all across the ground, it completely covering it. I grabbed the bomb tightly, removing it off of Axel right when it was set to detonate. It read 0:00, with the bomb heating up in my hand. I threw it in the air, grabbing Axel tightly and holding him down on the ground, saving him just in time. I held my hands over my head during the explosion, covering both me and Axel. The booming sound destroyed the building I had narrowly escaped from, the inferno at it's peak, with the spilled ash and dust from the guard on the ground beside us. I breathed out heavily, nearly being knocked unconscious. Axel opened his eyes from the explosion, and lit up when he noticed me. He then stared down at the pieces of my heart and his eyes went back, his expression grim and wary. He breathed out shakily, his terror coming into view.
"Hope, is that you're-"
Before he could get his sentence out, my vision blurred, and I collapsed onto the ground completely, being knocked out and completely unconscious. Axel screamed out my name with his tears rushing onto the ground, then everything went dark.
