We all charged towards Blaze, with Wave immediately going in for brutal and furious kicks, activating her screeching sound to distract him. He swiftly avoided her attacks, managing to grab her arm and twist it. He slammed her on the ground, but she managed to get up, even with the pain. He smirked, activating the same attack that ended the fight before. Lia swooped in, holding her sister tightly and getting out of the way of the blast. Using this brief moment of attack, I rushed in along with Axel, activating a combo and flurry rush of shadows punches and power blasts. Blaze manged to avoid most of our attacks, but was left with a small scar on his arm from the attacks. Ian telported from behind, ready to kick. Blaze moved swiftly, engulfing his fist in fire and punching Ian straight in the chest. To our surprise, Ian managed to hold on, barely stumbling. He successfully grabbed Blaze's leg and got ready to slam him against the ground when Blaze managed to engulf his legs in fire as well, sending Ian pummeling against the couch. Blaze charged towards him, but Wave stepped in for attack, with Lia coming from behind. Lia tackled him on the ground, pinning him down. But like the previous attack against Ian, he lit his fist on fire once again, sending Lia back, with Wave thankfully there to catch her. Blaze jumped out the window, smirking and yelling from below.
"We'll be able to fight better outside on this roof! Come out if you're not a coward!"
Following his words, we scrambled out the building, climbing up to the rooftop to fight. I moved quick, activating my speed and bursting towards him faster than light. I sent a punch hard at his face, sending him flying back. He swiftly got up, grabbing me and releasing the flame right by my eye. I got up just in time, avoiding the flame and getting up fast. I sent a punch to no avail, but thankfully Axel jumped in, kicking him and getting me out of the way. Lia swooped in with a dive, sending blows at Blaze with furious speed. He rushed up in the air, charging at her with flames igniting, but he landed a futile blow as she jumped out of the way. She laughed smugly.
"Too slow."
She kicked his back, but she was sent pummeling back against the ground as Blaze lit a monstrous flame barrage engulfing nearly the entire rooftop. He laughed, then rushed at Lia. Wave stepped in just in time, protecting her sister and clashing with Blaze. She activated her powers, sending a screeching sound at Blaze. But he blocked his ears with fire, almost like a shield, sending the sound back at Wave, her ears in horrible pain. He then jumped into the air, engulfing his entire body in one insane flame, enough to shine even brighter than the sun. We all looked up, with Lia stunned in disbelief.
"Holy crap! There's no way he's gonna actually attack us with that, right?!"
He charged down, as he slowly inched closer to the foothold. I got up along with Axel, and we both combined our powers to send out a ridiculous power blast mixed with dark shadows to create a shadow power blast. It began to pierce through the fire, ever so slightly. Blaze kept struggling against the blast, his fire slowly engulfing it. We raised our power levels, furiously attempting to stop the flames. His inferno grew even hotter, as it nearly destroyed our blast. But to Axel and I's suprise, our blast still sparked, and we worked even harder than before to keep it going. Axel yelled.
"Hope! Just... just endure this a little longer! Focus all your power into one blast! Even if you have none left, keep fighting!"
I nodded, and sent all my power out, absorbing into the power blast. It engulfed the entire rooftop, and destroyed the flames, them scattering to ash. I breathed out heavily, catching my breath. Blaze collapsed to the ground, chuckling. He got up, and I gasped as I saw what was in his hand. It was Axel. He was being held over the rooftop, from a 70 feet drop.
"I'll admit, you did solid at the fighting test. But let's see how a hero will react in this situation. If you charge at me, I drop Axel. You let me go, I give you Axel but destroy you. Either way, someone has to go. And Ian's still on fire, so his powers are useless. Now, what would a hero do in this situation?"
I gasped, terrified. If I didn't make the right call, Axel would... No! There's no time to think! You have to go with what your heart tells you! Even if it's wrong, just a split second decision could cost you, or somebody else! I sighed, standing my ground and clenching my fists. I suddenly yelled out to Lia.
"Lia! Move, now!"
"You think I didn't account for that?!" Blaze yelled out, sending fire the exact millisecond Lia rushed at him. Blood spurted out, as her body grew cuts and burns all over. She collapsed against the wall, with a significant amount of blood staining the wall. Blaze charged at her, setting her entire face on fire. Wave screamed out, as I rushed towards him. He laughed maniacally, sending a sun's worth of flames at me. Blood practically covered the entire building, with bruises so bad I was beyond repair, and burns so terrible that I was lucky to even be standing. But still, I held onto the little strength I had left. I struggled exponentially, barely managing to even take a single step towards Blaze, with flames gradually engulfing me every second. I couldn't breathe, couldn't feel, couldn't even see. But still, though the fire was destroying my body with each passing second, I held on. The thought of Axel, no, anybody, being taken away from me was enough to fuel my strength. And so, I persevered. I suddenly regained my footing, as Axel managed to get his arm out of Blaze's grasp, sending a small but distracting wave of shadows at Blaze. It was just enough to throw off his fire, and was just what I needed to get a measly power blast in. But this weak power blast was able to just slightly wound Blaze, to where for one single quarter of a second, his flames disappeared. I charged at him furiously now, activating my speed and everything I could thrown at him. I sent barrages of punches upon punches at him, finishing with focusing my Multi-Color energy into my fist and sending it straight in his face. I grabbed Axel, and Blaze was sent collapsing through 20 or so buildings with glass shattering off of them, and blood staining each and every peace of glass. I smiled, losing my consciousness and collapsing to the ground.
