"Oh hey, by the way I won't be able to come over tomorrow." Tori said, remembering to tell Shinso as they sat fighting each other in Mario Kart.
"Oh okay, why?" He asked, trying to mask his disappointment. He had grown so used to having Tori around, especially now that following the weeks of dinner at the Aizawa's Shinso went over to Tori's sometimes too.
"Tomorrow my class is going to the USJ training site. It'll be an all day thing." She explained, keeping her focus on the video game.
"That sounds nice." Shinso said, trying to not sound bitter for Tori's sake. Because he wasn't bitter towards her, but towards himself, towards the school system. He just hated that he wasn't enough to get into 1a, because if he had he would be going with Tori to the USJ. And who could call him a villain if he was in the country's top hero course?
"Haha! I gotcha!" Tori exclaimed as she won the match. But then she looked over at Shinso, and his distant gaze made her frown.
"Hey, you okay?" She asked, placing her hand on his bicep.
Shinso met her gaze, her blue eyes as usual, staring into his soul.
"Yeah, yeah. Just have fun tomorrow, okay?"

That was yesterday.
Now Shinso sat in his living room, the news having been on when he got home from school. The bold headline read:
Villain attack at UA High's USJ training site
Shinso's blood ran cold. He scrambled to take out his phone, hitting on the favorited contact.
Ring
Ring
Ring
"The number you are trying to reach-"
Shinso didn't stop to listen before calling again.
And again.
He sent a few texts too. But no response from Tori.

"Tori! Just Quake them or something!" Denki yelled.
"We are literally in the rockslide area, Denki! I make any sort of earth quake and we're all dead! Not just the villains!"
Tori had ended up with Denki and a few others in the rockslide area of the USJ, and she was mad at the fact that she was put in the one place she couldn't use her quirk without endangering her friends.
They had just been attacked by a group calling themselves the "League of Villains."
Cheesy, if you asked Tori.
"We have to just get out of here!" Tori said, grabbing Denki's hand before running.
"W-wait! You go on without me, I'll deal with these guys." He said.
"Won't you go into yay mode? You'll be defenseless!" Tori exclaimed.
"Yeah but, all of the guys over here will be taken out, that's what's important." Denki insisted.
Tori nodded. "Okay, but I'm coming back for you!"
Tori made her way to the center of the USJ, just to see her father be slammed into the ground by the League's bird like monster.
"No!" She called out, bringing a blue haired man's attention to her.
"Tori, no!" Aizawa yelled the best he could with half of his face smashed.
The blue haired man made his way towards Tori, menacingly holding out his hand.
Tori glared at the man responsible for hurting her father, and she prepared to send a quake at him when a voice stopped them both.
"I wouldn't advise that, Master. The file says her quirk is rather dangerous, better not get too close." A robotic sounding voice came from a man who looked like he was made of purple mist.
The blue haired man grumbled something, and the monster holding her father down took that as a signal to fling its free arm out, hitting Tori before she could process what was happening, flinging her harshly into the water.
So harshly that everything around her went black.

Every UA student was given a couple of days off after the USJ incident.
And for Shinso, those days were spent looking at his phone every five minutes. Hoping for a reply from Tori.
He had considered going to her house, but his parents insisted it wasn't safe to go wandering around alone with everything that just happened.
So it was a relief to him when he went to school and saw a mop of blue hair in the hallway.
"Tori!" He yelled.
The girls head instantly turned to him, and she looked, tired?
The girl had always looked energetic and well rested. Now, her hair was messy and her eyes had dark bags under them.
But she smiled anyways as she approached her lilac haired friend.
"Hey Shinso! How's-"
Tori was cut off by Shinso's arms wrapping around her in a bone crushing hug.
He noticed that despite her attempts to have her usual cheery tone, even her voice sounded drained.
But she looked unharmed. She was alive, and she wasn't in the hospital.
"You're okay." He breathed out, and taking in her scent as he breathed in again.
Her arms wrapped around him too once she had gotten over the initial shock of the hug.
"Yeah, I'm okay." She giggled half-heartedly, pulling away from Shinso. "I'm sorry for not texting, dad got really hurt and was in the hospital, I had to take care of him and make sure he was okay."
"Don't sweat it, is he okay?" Shinso asked, not noticing that his hands were still on Tori's waist.
"Yeah he is now. And he's stubborn as ever and is already back at school." Tori smiled slightly, always having admired her dads determination.
Shinso, as someone who never slept, noticed that Tori probably hadn't slept since her dad got hurt, or if anything not much.
So he was already forming a plan to help her relax, now that Aizawa was okay for the most part.
After class, Shinso rushed to class 1a. He entered, students still exiting the classroom, Tori by her dad at the front.
"Hey Tori." Shinso called, waving to her.
"Hey," she called back, a small smile on her face.
Meanwhile Aizawa looked like a tired mummy.
"Did you wanna hang out?" Shinso asked, somewhat nervously.
"Oh well, I mean I want to but dad-"
"Tori, go, have fun. I'll be okay." Aizawa interrupted, giving his daughter the best smile he could muster.
Tori sighed, hugging her dad as gently as possible. "Only if you're sure...okay let's go Shinso!"
Tori wondered why Shinso had dragged her to the store before his house, and had her wait outside too. When he emerged with two bags, she tried to look into them only to have Shinso place his hand over her face.
"No peeking." He said, smirking.
Tori pouted, sticking her tongue out at him before begging to walk to the house, therefore not seeing the blush on Shinso's cheeks.
Once they were in Shinso's room, the boy revealed he had gotten all of his and Tori's favorite snacks.
Tori gasped. "Oh, Shinso, thank you!" She jumped at him, hugging him quickly before going to sit on the bed.
"Here," Shinso said, tossing a ball of blue fabric at Tori. "I'm gonna go change, you can wear that if the uniform shirt is uncomfortable." He paused, his eyes widening in alarm. "Not that I want you to take off your shirt or anything!"
Tori just giggled. "It is uncomfortable, thank you Shinso."
The boy nodded, going to change before his face got too red. It was so rare for him to get flustered, yet Tori could pull the reaction out of him without even trying.
The two laid on Shinso's comfortable bed, eating snacks and watching silly movies, laughing at them together.
When Tori went uncharacteristically silent, Shinso looked over to see her asleep, her neck hanging uncomfortably to the side.
He smiled lightly, going to try to move her head so she wouldn't wake up with a cramp but the second he touched her Tori curled up, her head on Shinso's chest and an arm around his torso.
She yawned like a kitten, some of her consciousness returning as she muttered:
"Thank you, Hitoshi."
