"Hey Wukong? Got any plans today, I'm bored." Wukong opened his eyes to see Macaque right beside his bed. He yawned and his eyes shut again, "Wukong! Wake up you sleepy head." Macaque poked Wukong's cheek with his finger and the Sage only groaned and his his face in his arms.
"Not now Mac.." Wukong groaned. Pure sleep still fogged hid mind, Macaque smiled and jumped out of bed. He seemed..
Too excited for today's training.
Wukong felt odd having the other match his usual energy so quickly in the morning. But nonetheless, Wukong got up rubbing his eyes.
He rubbed away sleep, and he yawned."Can I go see the little ones again?" Wukong just nodded. Macaque would leave the safe part of the island just to go and talk and play with the little monkey chimps they had here. Wukong would usually say no because he would either not be there to help protect Macaque or he was just genuinely busy to keep an eye on the other and his little ones.
But Wukong didn't see anything wrong with letting Macaque go alone today, as long as he isn't out of the cave for more then an hour or two, Macaque will be fine.
Oh...oh how wrong he was.
How- dear gods..he was wrong.
Wrong for letting Macaque go out by himself.
"Macaque? It's been an hour you need to come back now." Wukong yelled out, he hadn't seen any of the smaller monkies around. They would usually be around the waterfall, waiting for Wukong himself to come out and say hello or pat them a hello..
But there was no one here...not even a silent chirp.
Wukong sighed, his tail flicked back and forth, nervous. His nerves were tingling, as if they were telling him something was wrong or as if something was watching him, tingly feeling.
Wukong decided to go back inside, Macaque might as well be making flower crowns with the little ones, maybe even putting up a small little party for a birthday of a child.
Maybe...
Wukong decided to take a nap. He was indeed woken up from a peaceful sleep, so he did. Wukong lied down on the couch, curling in on himself as he imagine the pillow he was hugging was Macaque himself.
Slowly but surely, Wukong fell asleep. It was a slow process but once the kind was asleep the silence that filled the cave was excruciating..
Not just the cave. But the whole mountain fell into an unsettling silence.
"He doesn't even hear you.." A raspy voice whispered into Macaque's ears, the ears twitched in a manner to try and pull away from the sensitive pitch. But it was useless, he eas held down.
Held down..
"You can't even yell anymore. You used it all up, fucking useless." Macaque felt his lower lip tremble as his eyes landed on one of the little monkeys, their once white fur was now tinted with that disgusting color of red with dirt.
The Demon pinning Macaque down smirked seeing the fact that Macaque was looking at the little ones again, "You couldn't save them." The voice said.Macaque shook his head the best he could, he was trying to disagree..
But he couldn't
He couldn't.
Why couldn't he?
Why couldn't be dissage...
Please...why."Such a pity. I really thought you were going to land somewhere, and be happy..but look at you." Macaque felt tears roll down his face. They burned, burned so badly it made Macaque wince under the warm tear.
