Wukong rolled his head, to what felt like to his right. His eyes slowly opened and he was met with a familiar dark purple room. There wasn't anything on the walls, only some small shelves here and there, occupied with books or small objects.
He could recognize the room without needing to second guess. Wukong knew he was brought here most likely from previous events he cannot remember.
"I was starting to get worried.." Wukong crained his neck to look at one of the corner of the room, there was a slef low enough to reach in arms length. A benabah lied in the corner with a small extra soft carpet on the floor.
Wukong smiled when he saw Macaque sitting on the beanbag with a book on his lap. A small worried smile covered his usual smirk.
"I was starting to get worried I wouldn't see that worried smile ever again." Macaque rolled his eyes and stood up, placing the book he had in his hands back with the shelf that lied near the corner. Macaque walked over to Wukong and checked him over, "You bandeges look good. Looks like you stopped bleeding." Wukong looked down again, he lifted his hands as hard as he could and was barely able to make sure they reached his vision.
They were a little bruised but that was it, "Why do I feel like I just woke up from gym but it's times a millionnn!" Wukong groaned out. He looked back up to Macaque, watching how his eyes looked over him. "Did something bad 𝘣𝘢𝘥 happen..?"
He was scared to even know.
No– he wanted to know. Truly. It was just fear that drove him to not want to know, ya know?
Macaque looked away from Wukong immediately. Wukong sighed and grabbed a soft hold of the blanket that was draped over him. He pulled it a little higher, as if that was going to help the fact he had clearly forgotten the way he got into such a state.
"Jared and those other assholes got you..𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯." Wukong simply nodded, his eyes closing shut. As if the news had drained the rest of the energy he even had left. Macaque exhaled slowly, he kneeled down and placed his arms on the edge of the bed, his head lying atop his arms.
Wukong opened his eyes and smiled, seeing Macaque close gave him a comforting feeling. Like a hug, a shadow hug. Yeah. "It's fine, I'm still talking and I can see, smell, feel, I'm fine Mac." Macaque seemed to sink deeper into the bed. His eyes narrowing even more on Wukong.
That's when Wukong noticed the eyebags under Macaque's eyes. They looked brand new, "Besides me.. what's with the eye bags?" Macaque reached up and under his eyes, he shrugged. No verbal answer, Wukong's lips went into a straight line.
"Aw come on, nightmares? Or is it something else I don't know about. Like a new weird hobby or a–" Macaque placed a lazy hand on Wukong's mouth, shutting him up. Wukong frowned and removed Macaque's hand, "First, rude. Second, I was just asking!" Macaque yawned and cleared his throat.
"Reading, I stayed up too late for the past few days and that's it. Nothing big." Wukong knew to not push, much less Macaque.
Macaque would shut down completely and just stop speaking to him for an entire week. As much as it sounded like it hurt, it was how Macaque coped.
Alone. Sadly, Wukong was the polar opposite.
Guess some opposites do match.
"Alright." Macaque gave a small smile. And gave Wukong soft head pats.
"Wait you never told me about my mom!" Wukong saw Macaque's small smile turn into a bigger one. "She called yesterday, I told her that you're just staying for awhile and you'll go back today." Wukong let put a sigh of relief.
"Hopefully she doesn't pull my ear this time, that stuff hurts."
