She hadn't looked forward to it, but felt she owed Belly to attend as it was her annual birthday dinner, yet with the new addition of Cameron sitting next to Belly. Rosie had put on a white dress and the flower crown that had been made for the girls. Taking a seat next to Belly, she threw Cameron a greeting smile before sinking into her seat.
"I'm glad you came, Cameron." Susannah made sure to make the boy welcomed in a room filled of people who felt protective over Belly. "I know your mom, Denise, from the club. I have heard many things about you."
Pressing his lips together, he smiled. "Thank you for having me."
Laurel leaned over, offering a plate of food. "Ever had miyeok-guk before, Cam? It's a Korean birthday tradition."
"It's so delicious." James added, sending Cam a reassuring glance from across the table as he dug into his food, thanking Laurel.
"Belly told me you were vegetarian, so I didn't put any meat in."
Cameron found it hard to pull away his gaze from James for a split-second, admiring the freckled blonde. "Oh, geez, thank you."
"Why don't you eat meat, Cam Cameron?" Jeremiah raised an eyebrow, taking a piece of bread as he stared curiously.
"Well, uhm, the meat industry is like the number one contributor to global warming." he paused, scratching the nape of his neck. "And I like animals."
"Just don't come for my leather." Taylor joked, making Steven glance at her amused.
