Chapter 3-Outside View

"Asher, honey it's time to wake up." My mom coos.

"Thanks mom, I'll be downstairs in a second." My mom is honestly my hero, she has done so much for me I'll forever be in her debt. As I roll out of bed I put on a pair of brown pants, a beige oversized T-shirt with my beige Jordan's. For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about the new girl, what's her name? Rhea, right? Something about her just seemed so different from other girls in this town. I don't know what it is and I don't really care but my friends have seemed to take a liking towards her.

There's not many people in this town, it's not tiny for sure, my class has around 300 people in it with a little over 1,000 people in the school, but we're also the only high school in town. So most everyone here at least knows of each other. But for some reason me and my best friends are especially known in this town. I've heard many different things about us, such as 'The hottest, smartest, most athletic and popular people in town.' I'm not gonna lie and say that's not true, but it is a bit exaggerated. People also claim that 'we are the biggest players to exist', but its fine because we are quote on quote so fine that 'everyone either wants to be us or be with us.'

Roman definitely lives up to the status of getting with tons of people but River and I keep more to ourselves. Yes, I've kissed a few people but I am still a virgin, which is a rare thing to people these days, even River has lost his. Roman and River are the only ones who know I'm a virgin even if I tried to tell people that I am one they wouldn't believe me. There's not a specific reason I haven't lost my virginity. I just never have found someone I'm interested in enough to lose it too.

As I walked downstairs I passed my little sister's room who was still sound asleep, she's eight and doesn't start school till later so she gets a few extra hours of rest which I am incredibly jealous of.

"Hey Asher," my mom greets "Are you ready for school today? You have a game later tonight right?"

"Yeah mom, it's a decently big game, against the second best team in our district, and we are currently ranked third so if we beat them we go up to second." I reply

"Ah that's so exciting, me and Nia will try and make it baby, score some hoops for us though if we can't."

"Of course mom, I love you, I'll see you later, I've got to get to school," I responded. Mom is an extremely successful business owner, she has multiple different stores and is able to work almost completely remotely, and has other people doing most of her work. While dad works out of town most of the time, but comes back every other weekend, and brings in a lot of money. Because he is gone so much it is very convenient mom works from home so she can take care of Nia. With both my parents working we are able to afford a lot which I'm super grateful for but I try to help out, or pay for most of my own things. Which is why I drive a shit box instead of all the other nice cars at our school.

Once at school I walked up to River and Roman just to hear Roman telling River all about the girl he hooked up with last night.

"God Roman, with the rate you're getting with these girls you're gonna either have stds or a kid soon." I laugh.

"Nah I got it all covered I make sure to wear a condom and look at their pussy before to make sure it doesn't look diseased."

"Roman that is so gross, what the fuck?" River replies.

"At least I'm getting some, unlike either of you two." he counters.

"How would you know I'm not getting any." River slyly states.

"I've got to focus on basketball." I add.

They both groan, "That's all you ever say Asher, It's always about basketball and school, it's never about girls for fucks sake you're a teenage boy with hormones and yet you never talk about girls." Roman replies

"Sorry Asher, I agree with Roman on this one, you're so focused on your future that sometimes we think you're gay with the lack of girls." River says.

"River, you're literally bi shut the fuck up I think you would know if I was gay, there's just no one who piques my interest."

Suddenly we all turn towards the parking lot in interest when we see a shitty old bike roll into the parking lot, I look towards Roman and River and they look as confused as I do.

"Who the fuck drives a motorcycle here?" River voices my thoughts, we all look to the rider who's getting off the bikes and it is definitely not who we expected. As the person takes off the helmet long wavy blonde hair comes piling out of it. The new girl. Unexpected to say the least.

"God damn," Roman says "even though it's a shitty bike, that's probably one of the hottest things I've ever seen."

"Leave the new girl alone, seriously Roman. Just keep it in your pants for once." River sighs

"Fineee. At least let's be friends with her." he breathes. We all turn back around to where she just was and was left with emptiness, it's as if she disappears almost as fast as she appears. We disregard it and make our way to class.

As I walk into my first hour I am met with the devil herself. I missed the first half of the day yesterday so I did not get to see that Rhea and I are in the same class. Well this will for sure make the rest of the year more interesting.
