Thomas' Pov:

There were few of us left. Too few.

Only a handful of gladers had made it into the safety of the hut. (Y/n) wasn't one of them. She was right behind us and no one had noticed her absence. Not one. I'd never forgive myself if she's dead. We all just abandoned her.

Alby was gone and the village had been set aflame, the orange light illuminating the glade in its fiery glow. Screams and wails could still be heard from those that were being dragged back into the maze or slowly dying from their wounds. What had I done?

"Where is everybody?"

"Whats that over there?"

Someone had pointed out several bodies hurriedly walking through the smoke which concealed their faces. The boy at the front seemed to be carrying something over his shoulder.

When they passed through the smoke I could clearly make out the body of Gally who had someone thrown over his shoulder. He held them tightly trying to limit their movement.

He and the two boys with him were half running towards us and it was obvious the body was too short and petite to be any of the guys. (Y/n). Oh god please don't be dead.

"Jeff, Clint help please!" He yelled as he marched closer.

The two med jacks pushed their way to the front and helped him carefully remove her body from over his shoulder. They barely had time to place her on the floor before Minho was half on top of her. He, along with Clint and Jeff scanned over her injuries.

She was in real rough shape. Somehow she'd managed to get a large gash on her forehead and it left her face covered in blood along with a split lip and a furiously bleeding nose. What on earth had she done? Most of her shirt had been ripped along the bottom and the undersides of her arms were covered in smaller gashes.

With the occasional twitching in her fingers the only other movement was her eyes as they flickered open and shut, in and out of consciousness.

"Clint we need to remove her shirt, I can't tell what internal damage she's done with it on." Jeff calmly yet worriedly demanded his partner.

With the help of Minho and Gally they sat her half upright in order to remove the mostly shredded article of clothing. I wanted to look away but I didn't feel any shame in seeing her body. It didn't feel awkward or wrong, all I wanted to know was if she is ok.

Unfortunately, she'd slipped back into being awake as they were trying to move her arms upwards and she let out a loud cry from the pain. The boys immediately halted their actions while Gally caressed her head muttering sweet nothings to calm her. I could see that both Minho and I were sending him threatening glares from the gesture.

With no other options, Clint took out a small knife and cut away the fabric until she was left in the relatively conservative undergarment. It revealed no more than a short singlet. What grabbed my attention more than anything however, was the large and gruesome scar on her abdomen. It started at the top of her shoulder, stopped just below her collarbone, then continued from her ribs to her waist.

It wasn't thin or clean it was as wide and my pointer finger and occasionally slightly jagged in shape. Was this from the incident? While Jeff inspected the damage, Minho caught me looking.

"I wasn't over exaggerating when I said I found her half dead," Minho grimly spoke to me.

I gulped. To hell and back sounded quite literal at this point. Now safely back on the ground Gally stood, leaving (Y/n)'s side as he marched toward me. Before I even processed what that meant he furiously punched me to the ground.
