(Y/n)'s Pov:

Never had a run home been so hard. My legs were on fire from overexertion and my lungs shrivelled up from the air I was gulping down. Once the adrenaline had worn off I was a victim to my tightening muscles.

When Thomas, Minho and I reached the glade majority of its inhabitants were waiting for us. I should have known they'd hear the destruction we'd left behind. It had clearly been raining back home due to the large puddles our boots were splashing through. As soon as we ran through the awaiting group, Minho was bombarded with questions.

"What the hell is going on out there?" Newt's voice cracked from frustration.

"What the hell you done now Thomas?" The irritating voice of Gally contributed.

The 3 of us kept jogging through the group as a cool down and I made sure to purposely ram into Gally. Was it really that hard to shut his god damned mouth for once? The Gally I knew never acted like this towards anyone, why was Thomas so different?

"We found something, a new passage we think it might be a way out." The newest runner answered the second in command.

We'd halted our jog, now opting for a determined walk while we conversed with the surrounding group.

"Really?!" Newt answered in shock.

Out of breath Minho gave a curt "Yea, its true. We opened a door, something (Y/n) and I have never seen before. Think it must be where the grievers go during the day."

A small hand grabbed my own and held it tight at the mention of grievers. My head looked down at Chuck who switched his focus between the 3 of us. My grip reassuringly tightened on his own in response.

"Wait... are you saying you found the grievers home? And you want us to go in?" I couldn't decipher whether Chuck was concerned or scared by this information. Maybe both.

"There way in could be our way out, Chuck." Thomas answered the small boy.

"Yeah, or there could be a dozen grievers on the other side! The truth is, Thomas doesn't know what he's done as usual!"

With that comment I spun around to face the quickly nearing Gally and put my hand firmly on his chest stopping him. My other hand remained in Chuck's for comfort.

With the hardest glare I could muster and complete authority in my voice I spoke. "Enough."

"But (Y/n)-"

"Enough Gally! At least Thomas has done something, what have most of you done except hide behind these walls? I have given years of my life to finding a way out and he's done it in under a month! You have no right to question him." With that I ended my rant. I was seething at this point and I felt a firm but calming hand on my shoulder. I could tell it was Minho.

Deciding to not continue to fight with me, Gally took a step back and looked at Thomas. In a calmer tone he continued to attack Thomas.

"Let me tell you something, greenie. You've been here 3 days, alright? I've been here 3 years."

Thomas retaliated. "Yeah you've been here 3 years and you're still here, Gally! Alright? So what does that tell you man, maybe you should start doing things differently!"

"Maybe you should be in charge, Thomas, what about—"

I stopped listening to their bitch fight and just rolled my eyes at the two children in front of me. Idiots. Chuck gave a small tug on my hand, resulting in me looking at him. His head nodded towards an approaching and frazzled Teresa. She was trying to grab the boys attention but they were... occupied.
