Chapter 1

Dev is the kind of a person who don't like to settle always wanting more his father was one of the tycoons in the country but of course his father didn't saw him as someone he could rely on
Saying that he doesn't know how to deal with so much money in hand

Dev wanted more wealth and fame his father was a man of rules always looking for the safest way to keep the business going but he was the opposite
So when his father passed away he changed the company policy so his only concern was profit nothing more.

Max his first man was fed up with how things are managed so one day when he knew no one would interrupt their conversation he spoke up his mind to dev .

" Dev this is not right what u have been doing in the recent months is dangerous ok I knew we got some good deals but also a lot of enemies don't u think? "

Dev who was watching the night sky giving his back to Max while smoking sighed in annoyance

" Max I knew that u loved my father very much like a son and u worried about his legacy but please don't worry your little head about it I know what I'm doing so for the second time today please do what u have to do and leave the rest to me or else I won't be nice next time! "

Max sat uncomfortably in his chair "I was just expressing my worry and I'm not interfering it's your company after all but it's just an advice from a friend

Dev turned around given him a death stare " I told u before,in business there's no such word and if u want to go on u have to listen to your own voice any other voice is a delouion nothing else understood? "

Max put his hands up in a surrendering gesture  " God !, alright fine I won't talk about it anymore".   getting up he said"but for real now won't u just leave this dam office we can just head to a bar to chill a bit we have been working around clock . "

That's when Dev smiled " will I definitely need a drink listening to your whining and worries got me a headache ."  He said as both of them walked out

At the bar 🍸

MAX ordered some snacks and dig into it while Dev was sipping his beer in silence

  "I need u to  take care of things here I'm taking a flight to New york tomorrow" Dev said and Max left his meal looking at him with a frown .

"New york! as far as I'm concerned we don't have any business there ?"

" yea it's not a business trip there is something I have to do " Dev said ordering another beer getting back to his silence again.

On the way back Max was driving the car because Dev couldn't he ordered a beer after another so at the end of the evening he wasn't able to stand on his own feet.

Max parked the car at the mansion driveway helping Dev inside he laid him on the nearest couch in the living room

"thank you " he heard Dev mumbling

Max smiled and left wondering how on earth Dev would catch the flight tomorrow considering his state now .

in New york Maya has just finished her shift at the hospital she took a taxi to her apartment in Manhattan apart from her job nothing was thriling in her life her friends baggage her to go out with someone but she always refuse to even give it a thought ; she hated the fact that she was with someone like her husband who kept arguing with her and making her life a living hell until one evening they were driving back home and he got angry at her causing their car to crush which lead into her losing him and most importantly her only child a tear fall on her cheek as she stepped into her big, cold and empty apartment she will never forget or forgive.

DEV 'S POV

I woke up with my head hurting like hell but thankfully I still have two hours before the flight I have a business deal to finish of course its a business  deal that Max knows nothing about and never will.

Of course Max insisted to drop me off to the airport he was cheerfull of course for six days he would get rid of me

Six hours later I landed in New york settled in The Kimpton Muse Hotel and  as expected I got that call on time

X :  hope u had  a safe flight , did u got it ?

D: of course , u have all my money right? u know I hate to count

X:  Absolutely, u don't have to worry trust me  meet u in half an hour

At the meeting location

Dev arrived to find a man at the entrance

" this way sir" Dev followed with a devilish smile on his face

" oh there he is the business taycoon! " welcomed X

" cut to the chase where's my Money? " Dev asked losing his cool he hated dealing with idiots  .

" Here it is " the man passed the briefcase to him & he took a glimpse at the money then handed  what's supposed to be a precious diamond to him .

"Alright I think we're done here " Dev got up from his seat but suddenly felt the cold matel of the gun on the back of his neck

" I got an information that this is fake and u know I hate losing my money on rubbish. "

Dev only smirked at that  " it's not fake but u seem to be having a death wish   questioning the quality of my goods do u?

He turned quickly knocking the man behind him getting his gun and turned to X  " Well that wasn't how I planned the evening but u asked for it " Dev said and a senseless fight started between the man called X manged to shot Dev in his arm but in one swift move Dev took a gun landing on the floor Shooting X in his forehead

" Rohit turn is coming don't worry " Dev said holding the briefcase heading towards his car

He Drove as fast as he could getting back to the hotel was not an option so he decided to pay an old friend a visit an old friend he didn't know if she still recalling him
