Chapter 15

Sonia's pov

Thankfully, many peaceful Days recently and nothing bad happened, Dev was more relaxed and we would go and hang out from Time to time.

Dev wasn't home so it was just Leo and Me, we indeed got married but there are still things I don't know about Dev.

"Leo ?, When is Dev's birthday? "

I asked and he looked surprised.

"Didn't you ask him before?

He asked

"I did but he didn't tell me and started saying it doesn't matter. "

"You know I asked him once and regretted it immediately, the look in his eyes frightened me, maybe something happened that Day and he doesn't need to remember it ."

Leo said and I sighed.

"I want to Know and I will get my answer. "

I said and he smiled.

"Good Luck with that, Sonia. "

Dev is the man I love and he's so special, I want to celebrate him like he deserves but I don't know why he's not telling me like it's some sort of a secret.

in the evening when he got back, and as we were having dinner I asked him again.

"Why do you want to know? " he asked

I smiled

"Well, it's something u have to tell me, so we can celebrate it it's a special day I mean the greatest gift in my life was born. "

He smiled with a glimpse of sadness in his eyes.

"I don't know when it's Sonia ."

He said and I frowned in confusion

"Come with me, I have to tell You something. "

He said and we left the dining room into the office Room shutting the door, I took a seat on the long couch as he stood near the window.

"The Family I thought was mine, wasn't that so all this time the man supposed to be my father said about His wife Leaving him and I was a lie, I found out recently that I spent the first years of my life in  an orphanage Until that man and his wife came and adopted me ."

He said and I was shocked.

"no wonder both didn't care about me, when the woman got enough of her husband she left him and he treated me badly like I was there to help him with the company like some worker nothing more. "

"How did you find out about this? "

I asked still controlling my emotions.

"Since I stopped doing drugs business, I would visit a few orphanages alone and spend some time with the kids there ."
One day when I went to one of them, an old man who seemed to be one of the staff kept staring at me and I went up to him.

He sighed deeply and went on.

"He said that he was happy that I had grown up and doing well. "

When he said that, I thought he was crazy.

"I started asking him questions and finally I understood that someone had left me at the orphanage entrance one night,  and I lived there for a few years until the adoption family came so my real name and my birth date are still unknown, that's why I had nothing to tell you when you asked me. "

When he was done, all I did was warping arms around him.

I didn't know what to say; this is so difficult and the fact he found out about this recently is heartbreaking.

We stayed in this position for a while,  when he broke the hug and smiled at me.

I felt sorry for asking and adding salt to this wound.

"Dev..I'm so sorry I asked about this much, it hurts you and I brought it up .."

I said but he put his index finger on my lips.

"Sweetheart, it's normal you would ask this and it felt good, telling you and getting things off my chest."

He said giving me a soft kiss.

he went through a lot for sure and I wonder how he still copes with everything.

Dev's POV

I felt awful finding out but I'm glad I told her,  she's the one whom I trust with my heart and my life and I know she will always be there for me.

She had left with the driver to shop for a bit, I was still in the office typing away on my laptop, when My phone flashed.

it's her, I smiled and answered the call.

"Hey sweetheart,  how's the shopping going? "

"Dev ..I " she said her voice breaking.

"Sweetheart, are you alright?, what's going on?"

I felt my heart drop as I could hear her shouting.

"Did you miss me Dev ?, I bet you did, any way you're wife is my honoured guest for the time being. "

I know that voice.

"Vin !, don't You dare touch her ! , I shouldn't have listened  to Leo and left You alive that Day You bastard!"

"Calm down Dev,  if you don't want her to die ."

"What do you want? " I asked

"Do you remember when we stole Gold years ago I want my share that I didn't get, and you of course. "

"Fine! " I said my furious at how this bastard made it alive when I left him almost taking his last breath.

"I will be waiting for your call " he said.

I started throwing stuff here and there , how could this happen Damn it !

Leo came in after  hearing me shouting.

"Sir , what happened? "

"He got Sonia Leo that's what happened!" I Sighed

"Who ?"

"Vin." I Said and his face got pale at the news.

"But he's.."

"That's what we thought,  but he's very much alive ."

"get all of our men here,  if Vin wants a war then so be it ."

I said and he rushed out.

Later that night I called Vin again.

"I will get you money that equal the gold. " I said

"No Dev this isn't your decision to make , you will steal a bank for me and gets the gold that I want plus twenty million dollars for missing up my life and consider yourself lucky I didn't asked for Me ." He said

"Fuck You! , alright but you better not touch her or you won't get anything!"

I said and cut the call,  it seems like I have to get back on the wrong way once again.
