Y/N's P.O.V
"The hour was late when the hero came face to face with his inevitable nemesis. Though he had foreseen where this would lead to and was more than ready to die trying, the boy stood strong in the face of certain danger..." I narrate, "And when it came time for the villain to strike, the hero saw a weakness where he did not notice before. Pride made the nemesis vulnerable even though the villain himself did not see it and the hero used that to take the advantage over him. it was because of something so trivial and completely avoidable that evil lost that day and that good reigned supreme due it's steadfast determination."
"Huh, not too bad" Cherri remarks, putting her arms behind her head as she crosses her legs over one another, "You might actually have a knack for storytelling, Y/N."
My girlfriend lies on one of the two couches in the lobby while I sit on the table in front of her to keep her company. Ever since the taxing and injury-inducing events of yesterday and the day before that, her and I have been trying to take it easy and heal. But we had forgotten how boring it can be to wait for our bodies to return to full strength, especially because there aren't really any board games around here to occupy our minds. So I fell back on telling her stories in the hopes of keeping our confidence up, since now we have to face Vox himself to ultimately move on to Valentino and end this for good.
"Is that overlord done with her healing serum thingy?" The cyclops sighs, glancing upwards, "I'm ready to feel better already."
"You can't rush something like potion making and Velvet didn't have any spares on hand to give me sooner. So we have to wait for her to create one from scratch. But I'm at least thankful she has the supplies to do it, since she herself admitted to me that she doesn't typically make them" I reply.
"I guess she's more used to creating things that poison people rather than save them" Cherri grunts, slowly sitting up while gritting her teeth in pain, "Sounds just up her alley, if I'm right on that."
"You are, actually" Velvet replies, walking down the last bit of stairs and heading over to where we are before handing me the vial she's carrying, "And feel free to quote me on that too, if you'd please."
"Gladly" Cherri glares at her, my third girlfriend giving me a quick smile before turning and heading back up the stairs.
"Well, since there's only one, I'd say we should share it" I rationalize, "Better that both of us are partially healed than to have one of us fully healed."
"I'd argue that you should just drink it, but I can't argue with your considerate attitude" The cyclops smiles, watching me drink around half of the liquid before taking the vial and downing the rest herself.
I can feel the pain of a number of my wounds and burns disappearing, though plenty still remain hurting. I gingerly touch the wounded spots and remove the bandages from the places that don't hurt anymore, Cherri being able to take off all the ones on her face and have a few of her leg wounds disappear.
"Well, let it be said to never doubt the ambition of a devoted crazy girl" She remarks with satisfaction.
"Great. Could you two maybe help with this then, please?" Vaggie grunts, standing below the newly placed TV on the wall with Dia on her shoulders, the succubus tinkering with the wiring to try and get it running.
"Afraid I can't" Cherri refuses, "Technology isn't my biggest strength. Besides, why do we need these things anyway?"
"We had a bit of money left over, so we wanted to modernize the lobby a bit" Charlie answers from behind the front desk, looking up from her paper sorting, "It may get crowded sometimes, so it'll give waiting patrons something to watch in the meantime."
