A light breeze blew through Jewel's open window, darkness resting over the beach outside. She sat at her vanity, lining her lips with a pinky nude shade. Jeremiah slipped his head through the cracked door, seeing the girl getting ready. He pushed the door open, stealing the girls attention away from the mirror.
"Why are you putting on makeup?" He questioned, tossing himself onto the bed.
"I'm going to the bonfire tonight." She told him, turning back toward the mirror to continue her routine.
"What?" Jeremiah questioned, his eyebrows dipping down.
"The bonfire..." She reminded him, knowing he should already know what he was referring to.
"No, I know about the bonfire. Since when do you like going out?" Jeremiah asked, confused by the sudden change in the girl.
"Since I started enjoying free alcohol." She laughed, standing from her seat. Jeremiah watched as she swiped the lip gloss over her plump lips, tossing it back onto her bed beside him as she ventured to her closet.
"Move along." She laughed, telling him she was about to change. A smirk grew on his face as he laid further on the bed, propping his head up to watch her.
"I have to change, Jere. Out." Jewel laughed, pushing him off of the bed jokingly.
"Alright, alright." He laughed, raising his hands in innocence as he retreated out of her room. Jewel slipped on a pair of spandex shorts and a simple tee, before heading downstairs to join the boys. They were gathered in the living room as Jewel came down, Jeremiah the first to see her.
"Oh, you...uh...you look good." He spoke, for once finding himself nervous instead of confident.
"Thank you?" She laughed, not thinking what she was wearing was anything exciting. Conrad and Steven saw her with Jeremiah, both of their brows furrowing.
"You're coming?" Conrad asked, surprised she had actually wanted to go with.
"Is that okay?" She asked, Conrad nodding nonchalantly.
"I thought you hated going out." Steven laughed, Jewel rolling her eyes playfully.
"Again really?" She laughed, referring to her earlier conversation with Jeremiah.
"Things change. Is Belly not coming?" She asked, noticing Belly swimming in the pool outside.
"She's having movie night with the moms." Steven informed her, earning a small 'oh' from the girl.
"Alright, come on. Let's go." Jeremiah rushed, grabbing the keys from the hook as they opened the front door.
"Shotgun!" Jewel called out, hearing the groans that followed from Conrad and Steven.
"You get it everytime." Steven argued, walking ahead of the others.
"She's also the quickest to call it." Jeremiah defended, something Steven noticed he did every time they argued over the front seat.
"Well it would help if you weren't wanting her by you all the time." Steven teased, knowing Jeremiah was oddly possessive over her to not have a crush on the girl. Steven moved to open the passenger door, despite Jewel's dibs, Jeremiah quickly locking the door.
"She called it." Jeremiah shrugged, watching Steven groan and turn toward the back door. He unlocked the doors, popping open the passenger seat door for Jewel.
"Thank you, Jere." She smiled, climbing into the red Jeep. He shut the door behind her, jogging toward his own door and getting in the vehicle.
"At least one guy here is a gentleman." She teased Conrad and Steven, neither of which getting the door for her. She looked to Jeremiah, his lips forming a smile white bright white teeth peeking through. The two stared at each other a moment more before hearing another groan from Steven.
"Oh my god, are you two done ogling at each other yet?" He spat, Jeremiah quickly tearing his eyes from her. He put the key in the ignition, turning on the car before backing down the driveway.
