Jewel rode with Jeremiah, Steven, and Conrad, the other girls having rode with Cam to Nicole's party. Conrad and her were talking with friends in the back when the others had arrived, Jewel moving toward the drinks. Jeremiah could see her grabbing another cup of juice, making his way toward her from the living room. He caught her wrist in his hand lightly, preventing her from moving forward.
"Hey, go easy this time." He told her, not wanting her to get caught drunk yet again. Jewel rolled her eyes in response, pulling out of his grip and heading back toward Conrad. Although she wouldn't admit it she was still annoyed with him. Not only for pulling away every time they got somewhat close, but also for his flirty moments with Taylor. He watched as she drank the punch, another guy standing on her left. He couldn't help but feel possessive of the girl as the guy whispered something into her ear, prompting a laugh to slip through her lips. The guy moved away toward the punch bowl, grabbing another drink for himself and for Jewel. He knew he needed to intervene, but also knew Jewel wouldn't stop if he had simply just asked. The guy returned to her side with the drinks, Jeremiah lifting himself from the couch. He moved toward the pair, watching as her eyes left the guy's and moved toward his own.
"Hey." Jeremiah spoke, feigning a smile as she brought the drink to her lips.
"Here for another AA meeting?" She spat, walking away from both him and the other guy she was talking to. Jeremiah's eyebrows furrowed at her attitude, following her through the house.
"No. I found a better way." He smirked, Jewel's eyebrows furrowing at his words.
"And what's that?" She asked, crossing her arms the best she could with a drink in hand.
"I can't get you to take it easy tonight, but I can follow you around all night until you get annoyed enough to give up." He proposed, Jewel laughing lightly at his words.
"I'm gonna let you in on a secret." She told him, moving her lips closer to his ear.
"If you wanted your plan to work...you shouldn't have told me about it." She told him, knowing that she could never get annoyed of his presence. He watched as she threw back the rest of her drink, challenging him to try to stop her again.
"Then maybe I'll just join you." He told her, sliding out the back door and toward the pong table before waving over Cam.
"What?" Jewel questioned, unsure with what he had meant. Cam joined them a moment later, Conrad and another guy named Luke forming an opposing team.
"You see, Cam here doesn't drink, Jewel. Which means I'll take over for him." He smirked, knowing Jewel hated how crazy he could get when he was drunk, which is why he usually stayed as the DD. Luke took his opportunity to throw the ball, making it into the center cup with ease.
"There's one." Jeremiah laughed, lifting his cup to Jewel before drinking the alcohol inside. Jewel knew the games he played, not letting herself fall victim to it.
"Fine. At least I won't be the only one drunk tonight. She told him, lifting her cup to him before drinking the punch inside.
