Jewel stood in her room, the song for the waltz dance playing out of her speaker. She hadn't gotten to practice much at rehearsals, feeling as if she needed to put time in for more practice. It didn't help that she didn't have a date yet, making the moves a little more difficult to practice. Jeremiah walked passed her room, glancing in to find the girl attempting to practice. He smiled at the scene, stepping forward into her room.
"Need a partner?" He asked, Jewel jumping at his abrupt voice. She wasn't sure how to answer, still upset with him despite their dance at rehearsals.
"Sure...that'd make it a lot easier I guess." She answered, an awkward laugh forcing its way up her throat. Jeremiah walked toward her small figure, taking her hands into his. They ran through the motions of the dance together, Jewel's eyes occasionally meeting his.
"You know, I think we're pretty good as partners." He commented quietly, their feet slowing to a halt.
"We are, aren't we?" She agreed, looking up to him. A comfortable silence overtook them for a moment, Jeremiah's eyes flicking between hers and her lips. He started leaning in, Jewel choosing to push away.
"I think I'm...I'm gonna go for a night swim." She spoke up, Jeremiah's eyebrows furrowing.
"What?" He asked, not being able to comprehend why she had denied him yet again despite feeling the same.
"I already told you Jeremiah, I'm not going to be someone you can have only in private." She reminded him, Jeremiah's jaw clenching.
"Are you really so blind to everything that you can't see that it's not like that?" Jeremiah criticized, a harsh tone in his voice.
"That's exactly how it is." She corrected him, knowing better than to believe that due to his past behavior.
"Seriously, Jewel, you're so frustrating to deal with sometimes. You're so stuck up on everything that you can't notice anything else going on." Jeremiah spoke harshly, Jewel's jaw clenching at his words.
"Fuck you." She told him, grabbing her bathing suit from her drawer before leaving Jeremiah alone in the room. She had wanted to go in the pool, however seeing Belly swimming she had decided to head down to the beach. She needed time to think and figure out how she felt about the Fisher boy. She had always wondered what it would be like if she ever liked one of the fisher boys, but now that she did everything was different. She didn't have to create scenarios with her imagination anymore. Now everything was real, and there was no way to change what was going on between the two of them.
