It was the end of the week, friday night, night of the show(s). There was a morning show that that day that had gone pretty smoothly, but the night show at 7:00 always had a larger turnout.

Y/n nervously watched the audience as they began to file into the school's auditorium. She normally wasn't nervous to preform, whether it be a stage production or her own music, but today was a little different.

"Who are you looking for so anxiously?" Leah chuckled, approaching y/n and looking at the stage with her.

"Just looking." She replied.

"There are my parents, Val, and my brothers." Leah said
"I'm still surprised Judd decided to come, he's not really the supportive brother type."

y/n blinked.
"I thought your parents made him come."

"Nope, he said he wanted to go."

no way.

"Now come on, we're doing final touches on set."

When it was finally 7:00, The lights in the auditorium turned off, the audience getting quiet in anticipation. There were a few words from the school's principal before the school's second showing of 'Heathers: The musical' was announced.

Judd watched with his usual scowl as the music began, eyes only softening once y/n entered the stage, introducing herself as Veronica Sawyer.

The musical was well put together he had to admit. They only had him working on set for a day or two as he regularly didn't show up for his detentions. His parents didn't fail to notice how his eyes stayed focused on the stage the whole time, which was uncharacteristic for him.

The co-star that played Jason Dean was a kid in  his physics class. He was a good actor, and portrayed his character well, but even still, judd chuckled quietly because he could still tell the kid was gay. Leah played Heather Chandler, Miriah was heather duke, Tahloola being Heather McNamarah. Some girl he had never seen before was Martha, same with the other roles.

He couldn't help but notice how well y/n could sing on stage. He didn't really credit her with singing ability when her song played on the local radio, because he believed anyone could use auto tune, but her performance was proving him wrong.

And once 'Dead Girl Walking' was well under performance on the stage, Judd felt his pants getting a little tight. She was right about what she told him in the car, the scene had her stripped down to her underwear on stage. And he could have sworn she made eye contact with him from the stage, smirking as she met his eye, he'd bet his life on it.

As the show was coming to a close and the final song was wrapping up, you could almost see a smile on judd's face. Judd enjoyed the show a lot more than he thought he would, there was sex, murder, and suicide, his favorite things. And maybe he felt a little proud....? He knew y/n worked really hard to pull off her performance, and he was...proud of her.

Y/n and Leah met the group in the auditorium after the show as people were leaving. Y/n smiled graciously as the praise she received from Mr and Mrs birch, and from the praise she received from Nick and his friends.

As everyone was getting ready to leave(y/n being invited to attend dinner with them), Judd grabbed her arm, holding her back from leaving with the group. Mrs Birch looked back, taking Judd's small head nod in her direction as "i want a minute with her".

The curtains were closed and the auditorium was empty now, leaving only y/n and Judd standing at the bottom of the stage.

"Something wrong?" Y/n asked softly, meeting Judd's gaze.

"...You did good." He said after a moment. He fought off a blush at the way y/n's eyes lit up at the compliment.

"Thank you." she smiled.

"But." Judd began, pulling her to him by her waist.
"You didn't wear the costume i picked out."

It was hard to pick sarcasm out of judd's monotone voice, but y/n was able to pick out the refrence he was making to the first time they met. She laughed, reaching up to wrap her arms around his neck.

"Maybe i could put on a show just for you. Would you like that?" she asked softly.

"very much." Judd tipped his thumb under her chin and tipped her lips into a kiss.

"Mom said you guys need to hurry up or we're gonna miss the reserva—" The two jumped apart at Nick's words as he turned back into the auditorium. He paused with wide eyes at the scene infront of him. He knew his brother and y/n had something going on, but he didn't think he'd see it with his own eyes.

He had never seen Judd glare harder than he was in that moment. Y/n watched as he stomped over and grabbed his brother by the collar.

"What did you see?" Judd asked menacingly.

"Nothing!Nothing!" Nick stammered.

"Good." Judd said, letting him go.

"cmon let's go." He gestured to y/n. who shook her head with a chuckle, following the two out the auditorium.
