Teddy had to give it to the Gryffindors, they sure were spunky.
Yes, Hufflepuff parties were great and everything, but wow the effort that these Gryffindors had gone to was impressive.
He could see a huge banner of a lion draped over the fireplace that roared every now and then (except when some fourth years tried to make it sing muggle songs). He had been informed that there had been many "protective measurements" placed on the dorm for the time being so that no teachers would come and investigate any loud noises or explosions. Some people clapped him on the back, others gave him strange looks. He began to talk to some impressed looking first years when he felt a familiar tap on the shoulder.
He turned around to see Victoire standing with two thick, blonde pigtails handing over her shoulder and red and gold paint smeared up her cheeks. Her arms were folded. She grinned.
"Your hair is white, Mr Lupin."
Teddy was glad it wasn't flaming red with embarrassment.
"Yeah...s'cold out there..."
"Could I ask what you're doing here?? There are other houses here but I don't think you were invited, were you?"
"Well, no..." Teddy rubbed his neck and gave a small smile.
Victoire reciprocated.
"Why don't you come over here? We've invented Butterbeer pong, Scarlet has taught us the muggle version but we've tweaked it a bit."
----------------------------------------------
After a while of playing a tedious and drunkening game of beer pong, the portrait hole opened. In strode Jorah and Kent, looking pleased with themselves.
"How did you get in?" Teddy asked, slightly baffled.
"Easy. We just moved that painting of the muscley knight across the hall from the Fat Lady and she was so distracted that she let us in."
Victoire and Teddy were sitting on a huge red sofa with drinks and a strange muggle band twanged out of the old record player.
"So how is Dominique?" Teddy asked politely.
"Last I seen her she was doing some kind of experiment with a lot of other Ravenclaws. They're a creative bunch."
"I don't suppose she hangs around with that Lovegood guy??"
"I think she sort of fancies him. It's the long blonde hair."
"Yeah, blonde hair is nice..." Teddy trailed off.
Victoire gave a half joking, sultry flick of her plait, and Teddy jumped to apprehension.
"I mean um yeah it's nice, if I could stick with one hair colour that'd probably be it."
"Meanwhile your hair has turned pinker than a newborn puppy. You're like a chameleon, Teddy Lupin. I can read you like a piece of parchment." Teddy grinned at the floor.
"That's not really so much of a good thing."
Victoire suddenly stood up and took his hand.
"Come on, fuck the party, there'll be at least five more before Christmas"
