By the time Victoire flew back to Shell Cottage, the sun was up.
Thankfully, the house still seemed as if it's occupants were sleeping, it was eerily silent. Victoire climbed back into her bedroom that she shared with Dominique. And Dominique wasn't in her bed. Shit.
Victoire took off her trainers, flattened her hair and proceeded into the hallway.
"Eh hem," she heard a voice, she turned around.
Dominique was standing with her arms folded.
"Nice early morning flight, I see?" She said sounding polite but Victoire knew she was getting at something else.
"What?" Victoire asked while feigning a yawn, "I just woke up."
"Well you must have mastered the art of invisible sleeping because I went to the bathroom around 3AM and you were nowhere to be seen. Vic, I was so worried."
"You didn't tell Mum and Dad, did you?" Victoire asked her casually, yet inside she was crumbling.
"No, I figured you were doing something reckless as usual. But next time at least warn me," Dominique pleaded, sounding genuinely concerned. Victoire heaved a sigh of relief and agreed to this.

The next few weeks of work and summer were a delight for Teddy. He and Victoire were getting along ridiculously well since the meeting on the roof top. They were joking around like old friends and he could sense the underlying sparks between them. It was almost electric, magical.

When summer was drawing to a close he began to grow anxious. What if this fragile system fell apart at Hogwarts? The house difference would make it difficult for them to see eachother, not to mention the 2 year age gap. And it would mean that Kent and Jorah would finally find out, and he wasn't sure how they would react.

He wondered if she was sharing his doubts. His best bet was that she wasn't worrying about him at all. It was so hard to tell what she was thinking, her careless mask was impenetrable, and sometimes he feared it wasn't a mask at all.

She was a wild thing, complacent and reckless but he was learning to love it.
