Victoire Weasley woke abruptly to the sound of the front door slamming. "BILL, GET YOUR PONYTAILED ARSE OVER HERE SO I CAN HUG IT!". Victoire smiled sleepily, it was her uncle George.

She slept in a bedroom with her sister Dominique in Shell Cottage. The date was the 2nd of May 2008. In other words, it was her 8th birthday. It was also a very important day for her family: the tenth anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts. And the anniversary of her uncle Fred's death.

The tenth anniversary party was to be held in Shell Cottage, seeing as it had once played a very important part for the Order of the Phoenix. Victoire and her family had spent the last few years in France with her mother's family, meaning that she had not seen her cousins in quite a while. And tonight they would all be within the perimeter of Shell Cottage. Some of the guests would be staying in Shell Cottage, such as Charlie, George, his wife Angelina and their children Fred and Roxanne and also Neville, his wife Hannah and their children Oscar and Gilly as both these families lived rather far away and would not have to travel by night.

The day was host to a tsunami of stress for her mother. "Victoire," she would call, "wheech tablecloth do you like ze most? Zees one? Or zees one?". Her father seemed very excited to be seeing his plethora of brothers again and spent the day reminiscing with George about good memories they had with Fred.

By about 6 o'clock, all the guests had arrived. George and his family arrived that morning and were the very first guests. Luna, Rolf and their children Lorcan and Lysander had been first to arrive after that, on thestrals no less. Bill welcomed them with a warm handshake. "I remember this cottage," Luna said dreamily, "you took the wind chimes down."

Ron and his family were next. Hugo, who was only a year old, decided to christen the front garden by peeing on it. "I'm so sorry," Hermione apologised profusely "he's still not potty trained."

Next were the Longbottoms. Oscar, who was roughly the same age as Victoire, yet seemed vastly more emotionally mature, offered her a piece of gum.

After that, her grandparents arrived. "But Bill, just let me cut that hair for you."

Then the Potters. Ginny had just given birth to a baby girl called Lily Luna who Victoire's mother doted on. "Eesn't she a leetle angel?".

Then came Percy's family, who looked less than happy to be here but still helped themselves to dinner.

Then came Charlie, bringing with him a young blue haired man who he told everyone was "a dear family friend."

Miscellaneous other guests arrived too: Rubeus Hagrid, Viktor Krum, Seamus Finnegan and Dean Thomas holding hands, Lee Jordan, Professors McGonagall, Flitwick, Sprout and Slughorn, Ollivander, Kingsley Shacklebolt and many many more. The kitchen was laden with magical banners bewitched to say "all is well" and an assortment of dishes brought by various wizards. The guests mingled and laughed and cried. For today was an emotional day for everyone.

After everyone had settled in and found a seat, Hermione stood up on a stool and tapped her glass. The room turned to her in anticipation. She cast her eyes around the crowd before saying:

"Ten years. Ten years ago this day marked us all with triumph. This day ten years ago, we ceased to live in fear, for the tyrant that terrorized us was defeated. By none other than our own Harry Potter. And I think we will forever be indebted to him for that." She nodded in his direction and there was a short burst of clapping. "But this day also marked us with grief. Many great wizards met their downfall during this battle. Some were so young. And so we wish to take a few moments to remember those who have fallen, not just during the battle, but who we have lost fighting Voldemort and protecting us."
