"But I promise you this, I'll always look out for you, yeah that's what I'll do"Lukes recovery went well, his concussion had started to go away. Overall he felt better in himself already.
But Luke was confused and in the long run having to make a tough decision. His manager/trainer had questioned him, asking if boxing was for him. Luke wasn't sure if he enjoyed it anymore. Sure it was fun when he didn't know Effie and worry every Friday night about her when he had to fight some random guy. But now it was different, he couldn't get her pretty little face out of his mind. He was worried one night he wouldn't reply to her message or see her again, instead he would be lying in a hospital bed in a coma, or worse dead.
"What do I do" he asked me, we lay together me on top of him as he wrapped his strong arms around me
"Well what do you want to do" I ask back, not sure how to answer
From my prospective, Luke had rarely talked about it. He never really seemed interested enough to tell someone. Seeing him on Friday night scared me though. Did I feel prepared to be in a relationship with someone who might not come home one night.
"I want to carry on, I want to prove my manager and the press wrong. I can do it I'm Luke Hemmings. So what I wear nail polish and I don't always win. That helps me learn" Luke spoke proudly, a large smile planting on his face
"I'm proud of you" I smiled brightly, kissing his cheek softly
"Do you know what we're gonna do today" he spoke softly, pulling me closer to him
"What"
"I promised you that date, so that's what we're gonna do"
"Any clues mr hemmings" I giggled rolling onto his wooden floor letting out an oof
"Casual I suppose I'll take you home, so you can get changed" he spoke, slowly getting up off the sofa, his body was still recovering.
"Luke" I spoke following him to the front door
"What"
"I'm really happy right now"
"So am I, even if you look like a carrot" he joked, slamming the door shut behind us
"Shut up you dick, you really had to ruin the moment" I rolled my eyes
"I hate your car" I groaned, my nostrils burning from the smell as soon as the door opened
"It's not that bad" he chuckled spraying some type of men's deodorant around the small compacted box
"You made it worse" I mumbled
I unlocked my apartment door. Letting the homey vibe hit me. I hadn't been here for nearly 2 months. That was bad. Everything had been left as it was. Blankets from the sofa lay everywhere. Empty glasses and dirty plates sat in the sink.
"You haven't been here for a while" Luke asked confused at the state
"No I haven't, I've been starting at calums..." I left off
"Oh"
"Yeah oh"
"I'll change quick, make yourself at home" I smiled Quickly entering my bathroom.
I looked at myself in the mirror frowning, I looked awful. Giant purply black bags laid under my eyes, showing I hadn't slept properly in weeks. My skin was pale showing my brown freckles dotted around my face. My ginger hair a mess on top of my head. This was gonna take a while.
I applied some concealer, blush, bronzer, mascara and eyeliner. Then brushed my hair out leaving it in its curly natural mess. For my outfit I chose a green cropped cardigan and mum jeans. I looked cute I guess. Makeup did help me look more alive to.
"I'm ready" I smiled walking out of the bathroom, to see Luke comfy on the couch half asleep
"You look beautiful" he said softly, reaching his hands out for a hug
"How does cake and ice cream sound, while sitting at a beautiful park with a pink and cream blanket" he suggested with a bright smile
"Good, amazing I love that idea" I giggled wrapping my arms around him
"Well good job I put that stuff in my car a while ago, I was gonna ask you to go on a date with me before the bonfire incident. I'm still sorry about that" he said looking down at his hands
"It's ok Luke, the past is the past" I frowned looking at him
"Here seems like a perfect spot" he spoke placing the blanket onto the lime green grass.
I don't know how Luke found this place but it was beautiful. It was bright and cheerful butterflies flew around the flowers, birds flew in and out of the trees. The grass was bright. An elder couple sat on a bench across the park together looking happy. I wished me and Luke could be like one day
"I love this place" I smiled, taking his hand to help me sit down
"I got sponge cake, joe helped me make it while I was babysitting him yesterday. He added extra vanilla in for you. We also chose out strawberry ice cream. I hope you enjoy" he said pulling out a golden cake from the old straw basket. With a tub of red strawberry ice cream.
Everything Luke did was perfect.
"I hope this is enough for you" he spoke nervously
"It's perfect luke, thank you. No ones ever done this before for me" I smile at him connecting our hands
"So, tell me more about yourself" he asked looking into my eyes
This was it. I was going to tell Luke everything. No more lying about my past or who I was. I was gonna tell him every single thing that had happened. Whether he liked it or not. I guess I was afraid after I told him he'd run away. But maybe not. People do crazy things for love.
