I spent the rest of the morning until lunch with Nick, even though I had only met him yesterday, I already trusted him a lot. Now he knows everything about Conrad, and he's been here for me, not romantically or anything, just as support.

"If you keep being this good to me, I could fall in love with you," I said to Nick.

"Now there's hope," he replied, and I got out of the car and walked home.

Even though I wasn't hungry, I knew my mom would kill me if I missed lunch, so I went. Susannah, my mom, and Belly were already at the table waiting for me, and I sat next to Belly.

"Don't worry, Conrad won't be eating with us, and you don't have to explain right now what happened, but I listened to your fight earlier," Belly whispered next to me. I nodded in response. I didn't talk much for the rest of lunch. I just answered some questions from Susannah, who kept asking about my date. She noticed that I didn't want to talk much, so she stopped asking.

For the rest of the evening, I helped Belly pick her outfit for the date, and she insisted on helping me pick mine for the party until I finally accepted. We spent the whole afternoon chatting and laughing together. I'm going to miss this in college.

When Cam texted Belly that he was already here to pick her up, we both went downstairs, where we met the boys playing on the TV.

"Dang, Belly, you look hot," said Jere, since he was the only one who noticed our presence. Then he took Belly's hand and turned her. I was smiling at that image. I'd always known that Belly and Jere would end up together. I was looking at them when I felt someone looking at me. I turned to meet Conrad's eyes, which were directly looking at me. I completely ignored him and went to hug Steven from behind.

"Don't you think Belly looks amazing?" I asked him. He just turned and looked at her and continued playing.

"What a nice brother, Steven. At least try a bit," I whispered to him. This time he turns again and smile at Belly, and then he told her she looks nice "much better" I say.

"Bye, see you guys later," Belly said as she left. After she left, I stopped hugging Steve and started walking to my room.

"Hey, wait," Jere called me out. I turned to look at him. "Are you okay? You seem weird."

"Yeah, I'm just tired."

"No, it's not that. Belly told me about your fight with Conrad. What happened?"

"So now you're asking Belly about my problems before me?"

"No, it's just that I wanted to know what's going on, and I asked Belly if she knew, and she told me everything."

"It's okay. So now you're talking to Belly?"

"Adds, don't change the topic. You're my best friend, so I want to know what happened."

"I don't know, and that's the truth, so don't look at me like that. Everything started yesterday. Remember when you saw me coming out of Conrad's room that morning? Well, the night before, he tried to kiss me, and I stopped him. I told him he would regret that, we never talked about it again until last night, and he told me that trying to kiss me was a mistake and that he would regret it if I let him."

"Son of a bitch."

"Remember, he's your brother, so you're saying those things to your mother."

"Right, sorry. Continue."
