In the morning, the first thing I did was get ready to drive Taylor to the bus station. She was already awake when I arrived, and she looked sad. I felt helpless as Belly hadn't talked to her since yesterday.

When Belly wakes up, she ignores Taylor and goes to get changed.

"Tay, don't worry. Everything will be fine. She just needs time to think, I guess, and she still has to talk to Steven," I said. Taylor nodded and looked away. She was hurt, and I understood. She was afraid of losing her best friend, and the guy she had a crush on for so long only reminded her that the "mistake" wasn't going to happen again. "Pack your things and meet me downstairs. I will drive you."

"Okay." Taylor left to pack her things, and I headed downstairs. In the kitchen, Jere and Belly were already there.

"Belly, can I talk to you?" I asked.

"Sure." We made our way outside the house to have some privacy.

"Belly, I know how you feel. You feel betrayed, not only by Taylor but also by Steven. But trust me when I tell you that the last thing you want is to lose her. Taylor is so important to you. You guys have been friends since you were babies. She's always been there for you."

"But she kissed Steven."

"And? It was a mistake. It's never going to happen again. Talk to her. She's leaving, and she's sad that you aren't talking to her."

"I will talk to her."

"She's packing her things. You could go now."

"Alright." I smiled as Belly headed towards the house.

I entered the kitchen, but Jere wasn't there anymore. I think he's on his way to work with Steven. I looked at the entrance and confirmed that his car wasn't there anymore. I returned to the kitchen and grabbed a cereal bowl. Then, I added milk (I'm not a psychopath that puts milk before cereal) and started eating as I scrolled on my phone.

"Good morning," Conrad greeted me.

"Good morning. Do you want something to eat?" I asked.

"I was thinking about making some eggs."

"Sit. I will do them for you."

"It's not necessary. I can do them."

"Don't worry. I want to." He followed my order and sat where I just was. He was looking straight at me while I grabbed the eggs and started making them. When they were ready, I served them on a plate and passed it to him. I was about to sit in the chair next to his when he took my arm into his lap, and I sat there. He released my arm just to wrap it around my waist. The feeling of his arm around my middle felt so normal, as it was something we were used to doing.

We kept eating our breakfast like that. I didn't know what this meant, but I liked it. I was just waiting for him, for us. We didn't speak about anything while eating. Then I took the plates and washed them, knowing that Conrad was watching me.

"I'm sorry about yesterday. I know it was bad, and you asked me to clear everything up before we could be together, but I can't..."

"Con, look at me," I say as I walk towards him and gently grab his face with my hands so that I can look him in the eyes. "Don't worry about it. Stop this internal fight you're having. You don't need it; it's not good for you. If you need some time, it's okay. I just want you to be happy, no matter what. Even though it's heartbreaking to see you every day knowing I can't be with you, I'll always be there for you."
