Adrian was trying to rest his eyes, to try and ease his mind. He was stressed and absolutely hated waiting around. He wanted to go and do something, be useful. All he and Eddie were doing was waiting around until Dustin and the crew let them know what was going on. Dustin had called them, informing them that they were going to check out the old Creel house.

Adrian knew enough about the Creel house, how Victor Creel had supposedly killed his family in a bloody massacre, and now he was rotting away in Pennhurst Mental Hospital. Did the others somehow think that the answers were at the Creel house? Dustin had told them over the radio of what Robin and Nancy had done, gone to talk to Creel to see what he'd done.

But all they'd gotten from him was the house. So there they were, searching the house while Adrian was lying on the floor and Eddie was throwing shit into his stupid empty can of spaghettios. Adrian could still smell it.

Eddie threw a few things into the can. Probably pebbles or stones. It was just about to get onto Adrian's nerves when the two heard the sound of a car approaching. Adrian sat up and saw the way Eddie recoiled, going into a crouch before daring to look out of the window. Adrian made his way over to Eddie as he ducked out of sight.

"Fucking Carver," Eddie hissed at him.

Adrian frowned before the name clicked into place. That tiny blond preppy asshole? Well, it had been a while since Adrian had seen him, he doubted Carver was that tiny anymore.

"Oh, what the fuck," Adrian whispered, staring at the wrench, baseball bat and tyre wrench that Jason Carver and his evil dickhead cronies had brought with them. "Um. Eddie dearest, get Dustin on the fucking line," he said, watching the three go to Rick's house.

"Shit, shit," Eddie muttered, going to the other window to watch the three.

Adrian's stomach did a flip. "Those fucking spaghettios," he said, and Eddie's pale face went even paler.

"They might make a reappearance," he said, and Adrian grimaced. Eddie grabbed the radio. "Hey, Dustin," he said, voice tense and scared. "You there? It's Eddie. You remember me, right?" he said as he turned away from the window and ducked, settling into a crouch. "Hey, uh, if anyone's there, I think I might be in a bit of trouble here, OK?" he continued. "Wheeler?" he asked, looking out of the window before he turned back to the radio and hit it. "Anybody!"

They didn't get any response. Adrian let them wait long enough to try and hear from Dustin and the others. Eddie kept hissing into the radio for Dustin, or one of the others to please fucking answer, but they didn't. It felt clear enough that they'd forgotten about the two boys, or at the very least, forgot to put some fucking batteries in their radio. The sun was starting to set when Adrian finally had enough. They were getting out of there, one way or another.

"Fuck this, let's get out of here," Adrian said. "My bike's still out there," he said.

"They'll hear the sound and come running."

Adrian looked at Eddie, an idea popping into his head. "Do you think Carver and his dickhead crew will remember me?"

"Oh, for the love of God," Eddie muttered, brown eyes going wide. "Adrian, no," he said.

"Eh, Adrian yes." He made to move, but Eddie grabbed his hand.

"No," he said firmly, then pointedly looked at the boat.

"OK, that'll do."

They got into the boat, aware of how dark it was getting outside. Once the boat was in the water, the tarp thrown off to the side, an oar in their hands, the two rowed out into the lake.

"Can you make us invisible?"

"It's not making us invisible, it's making them not see us. The boat, the oars, us and the water. There's too many details to hide in their minds." Adrian said, feeling bad that he couldn't do anything. He frowned, looking at the dead motor. "Why are we using these fucking oars?" he asked, putting his inside the boat before he held his hand over the motor. It gave a few weak sputters before it roared to life.
