"Happy 4th of July!"
The house was busy because everyone was preparing for the dinner celebration later this night for the 4th of July. This is actually the first time that I would celebrate and experience the 4th of July. Sakto rin yung punta namin ni Keanu ngayong Hulyo.
It's our 4th day here in California and I'm really enjoying my stay here. Keanu's cousins are fun to be with, especially the boy twins because they we're so cute when they found out that I am a twin as well. Hindi pa nga sila naniwala noong una nang sinabi ko kaya nakipag-video call pa ako kay Fina para may pruweba.
"Is there anything I can help?" Tanong ko sa mga Titas na busy na nagpreprepare ng foods sa kitchen habang yung mga boys at Uncles ay nasa labas, nagpreprepare ng fireworks.
We're not in Mommy Eden's house right now. We're actually staying at this beach house in Malibu that they rented just for this day in celebration of the 4th of July. It's this big, large house that is just right for all of us. Invited lahat ng mga relatives at cousins ni Keanu and it was thrilling to meet them all.
"Can you arrange the plates and holders, Euphoria? We're almost done here sa pagluto," ani ni Mommy Eden.
Ngumiti at tumango ako at agad na inarrange yung plates at holders. Medyo nasasanay narin ako na tawagin akong Euphoria dahil lahat sila rito ay yun ang tawag.
"Tignan mo oh, naglalaro sila sa labas imbes na mag-arrange ng fireworks," sabi ni Tita.
Napatingin ako sa bintana kung saan tanaw ang kabuuan ng labas. Naghahabulan ng sparklers silang magpinsan at kasama rin si Keanu. Siya ang ikalawang panganay, kasunod ni Anthony, sa lahat ng magpipinsan at matangkad pa siya kaya nagmumukha siyang matanda talaga sa kanilang lahat.
"Nag-eenjoy naman. Hayaan mo na."
Ngumiti nalang kami. Papalapit naring mag-gabi kaya panay na ang preparation ng lahat. Nang matapos akong mag-arrange at naglinis rin ng konti, natanaw ko si Keanu na naka-upo sa isang beach chair at nasa bawat isa sa kanyang kandungan ang kambal at naka-upo rito.
Para silang may pinag-uusapan dahil panay ang galaw ng mga bibig ng dalawang bata.
Napangiti ako sa aking nakikita ngayon.
Kinuha ko ang aking phone sa bulsa at zi-noom in iyon at pinictur-an. Cute.
Mabuti nalang at clear glass window itong harapan ng beach house dahil makikita mo talaga ng klaro ang tanawin sa labas.
"He's really close with the twins."
Napalingon ako sa aking gilid sa nagsalita. Si Mommy Eden pala.
"I can see that po," tugon ko nang naka-ngisi.
"Keanu never had a sibling. Only child. But seeing him in moments like this, I could say to myself that I didn't disappoint him to be his mother."
It made me reflect when she said those words. I turned my gaze at her and looked at her softly.
"You raised a good son Mommy Eden. Keanu's a good person. I can justify to that," I said, smiling at her with reassurance.
