5 Years Later

{Yn POV}

I pant as I race through the streets, right on the tail of an escaped gnome

I cast a spell directly in front of him and let out a laugh as he falls in

"4 down, 2 more to go," I say to myself as I throw the gnome into a shadow portal, teleporting him to a cage we had back at the bookstore

I cast a hologram spell and see Douxie falling on his ass muttering a "fuzzbuckets" to himself

I try to stifle my laugh, but he hears it, turning to see my hologram form

"Oh shut it," He says before getting up and casting a lasso, finally capturing his gnome

"Number 5, 1 more," I tell him

He nods as I cast a shadow portal and step through it, appearing next to him in real-time as my hologram form disappears

I then cast another portal which Douxie throws the gnome into

I turn my focus to my tracker to see where the last gnome was located when I am suddenly pulled back by my waist into someone

I let out a gasp in surprise and I turn around in Douxie's arms, looking up at him

He leans down to kiss me and I lean up to meet him when suddenly he moves out of my grasp causing me to stumble forward

"What was that for," I say with a faked frown, turning to look at him

"That was for laughing at me love," He says as he turns to his own tracker

I march up to him and grab the collar of his shirt, pulling him toward me and connecting our lips

He relaxes into the kiss and pulls me closer

Suddenly we hear a crash and we both slowly turn to see the last gnome standing frozen behind a few crates he had just knocked over

Douxie and I look at one another and smirk

"First one to catch him-" I start

"-has to do cafe cleaning for a week," Douxie finishes

We nod before I push out of his arms and race after the gnome, Douxie hot on my heels

I weave around crates as the gnome races forward

I suddenly feel my feet leave the ground and I shout in surprise as Douxie races in front of me

"Douxie! A gravity spell?! Really?!" I shout

"All's fair in love and gnome catching!" He shouts back with a laugh

I shake my head before smirking

"If that's how you wanna play it," I say to myself

I then summon my staff and use it to control the gravity spell

I launched myself through the sky and easily overtook Douxie

"Hey!" He shouts in surprise as he watches my form fly overhead

"All's fair in love and gnome catching!" I yell back at him with a laugh

With my speed I easily catch up to the gnome, casting a shadow portal underneath him and sending him to our cage

I then slowly lower myself to the ground

Douxie slows down next to me and leans over, catching his breath

I use my magic to grab Douxie's staff

He looks at me in confusion but his face turns to one of playful annoyance as I turn his staff into a broom and hand it back to him

"Ha ha, come here you buttsnack," He says as he grabs my arm and pulls me toward him, capturing my lips with his own

When we pull away I lean my head on his, my eyes still closed as I let out a deep breath

After a few moments of peaceful silence, I open my eyes to see Douixe already looking at me

"What are you looking at," I say with a quiet laugh

"The most beautiful being to have ever graced the earth," Douxie says softly without hesitation

I feel my cheeks blush as I push him away lightly

"Shut up," I say embarrassed

He just smiles at me and pulls me back

"No, I will shout it from the rooftops if needed. You are finally here, with me. I couldn't be happier and I want to make sure you know that," Douxie says as he holds me in his arms

"Well I sure hope so, after all, I did marry you. If we weren't happy that'd just be a waste of all that cake," I say playfully

He lets out a laugh and it dies down as we lock eyes

"Let's go out tonight, just you and me. Let's drive through the countryside and see where the road takes us," Douxie says softly

I hum in response

"I'd like that," I say softly 

Douxie leans down to kiss me once more but we are interrupted by my phone ringing

I answer, putting it on speaker

"Yn Casperan speaking," I say

"Ah help dear, I was told you and your husband were the people to talk to for magic cleanups," An older woman says through the phone

"Yes ma'am, what can we do ya for," I ask

"Well you see, I have a bit of a Shadow Mephits problem," I look up to Douxie who smirks back at me

"We will be right there ma'am. Don't worry, Arcadia's finest are on their way," Douxie answers

"Splendid, see you two soon," She says as she hangs up the phone

"Looks like our drive will have to wait," I say to Douxie

He chuckles

"Love, you underestimate my abilities when date night is on the line," He says to me

"Alright then, let's see what you can do," I say

With that, I cast a show portal and we both walk through
