EDDIE-
I'm waiting for Chrissy in the woods close to our school. She had called me last minute which I thought was weird, because how on earth did Chrissy Cunningham get my number? And why would the head cheerleader of all people want to buy drugs?
I'm making my way over to the wooden picnic table, and I see her looking at the tree in front of her. She's backing away frantically as she looks at it scared. I walk up behind her as she's still backing away. What the hell is this girl looking at?
Chrissy runs right into me. She turns around and screams. "Woah, hey," I say to her as I see her face. "Sorry," I chuckle. Chrissy looks petrified. I frown in confusion as I watch her try and catch her breath. "I didn't mean to scare you," I look her up and down to see her trembling with fear.
What spooked this girl?
"You okay?" She turns around and looks back at me and nods. "Y-Yeah I'm alright, sorry, I'm just nervous," I purse my lips together and nod. Chrissy doesn't say another word. Instead, she heads over to the picnic table and takes a seat. I blow out a puff of air and head her way.
I slam my metal lunch box on the table and take off my vest. Chrissy is shaking her legs and trembling once again. "There's uh... There's nothing to worry about. Okay?" I throw my vest on the table. "No one ever comes out here, we're safe," I take a seat across from her and open the lid. "I promise,"
I put my head in my hand and look at her. She looks up at me from her hands. "So, how does this work exactly?" I push my head off my hand slightly and exhale. "Just like any old sale, except cash only," I look back at her and smirk "And for obvious reasons, no receipts." Chrissy looks away.
Get this shit over with Munson.
I grab the bag out of my lunch box and hold it up for her.
"I'll do you a half-ounce for, uh...20. What do you say?" A squirrel then runs up a tree behind us, making Chrissy paranoid as she looks toward it. I roll my eyes and sigh. This shit is a literal waste of my time, and I'm sure she has her stupid boyfriend and his posse waiting to jump out at me at any minute.
I put the bag away and close my lunch box. "We don't need to do this, I'll just walk away,"
Chrissy shakes her head "It's not that, I don't want you to go," I look at her confused. "Do you ever feel like you're losing your mind?" I scoff "On a daily baises. I mean I'm doing a drug deal with Chrissy Cunningham. The queen of Hawkins High," I joke. She doesn't react.
Tough crowd.
I can tell by her nervousness and how stand-off-ish she is, that she doesn't remember a single thing about me.
Just like Penelope, she and I were just classmates, but we would associate with each a lot more than Penelope and I did. Maybe I should remind her and try to lighten up the mood.
"You know, this isn't the first time that we've hung out," She looks at me confused. "No?" She asks. I smile at her "You don't remember?" She shakes her head. "That's okay," I say glancing away from her. The expression on her face is confused.
I put my hands together and ball them into a fist. I jab my fist into my chest, imitating someone driving a stake through my heart. I fall over off the picnic table and onto the pile of leaves below me. I do a summer sault and stand to my feet as she exclaims loudly. "I wouldn't remember me either Chrissy," I run my fingers through my hair as she laughs. "Do I have stuff in my hair?" I smile at her "You don't remember me?" I cross my arms and slightly laugh.
I'm a little hurt by the fact that she doesn't, she and I knew a lot about each other growing up. But with us growing up and entering different cliques, I can see why.
