EDDIE-
I'm laying back in the boat of Rick's small boat shed. Penny is asleep on the floor next to me. She's using her sweater as a blanket to cover her, and her bag as a pillow. The sun is shining through the windows of the shed.
How can she sleep with the sun like this?
I look down at her to see her trembling. I lean over the boat and she starts to move faster. I jump out of the boat and stand in front of her. "Hey, Penny," I say shaking her. She doesn't wake up. "Fuck not again," I start to shake her harder and her eyes shoot open at me, and she sits up.
"Are you okay? You got me a little scared there sweetheart," Penny looks over at me and scowls. "Don't call me that," she says as she stands up and dusts herself off. I stand up as well. "You didn't answer my question. Are you okay?" I ask again. Penny puts on her jacket and pulls her hair out from behind the collar.
"I'm fine, it was just a nightmare," she says as she sits on a wooden chair by the boat. Penny picks up her bag and pulls out a huge walkie-talkie. She extends the antenna and holds down a button.
"Steve," there's no answer, just static. "Steve," she says in a sing-song voice. "It's Robin, what's up Penny?" Penny sighs in relief. "Just wondering what time you guys are heading over here and if you've found out anything about Vecna,"
"We're on our way back from the store, we'll be there in 5," Steve says "Alright, see you guys soon," She pushes the antenna down and sighs. "How are you okay?" I ask her.
She once again looks at me confused. "What do you mean?" I shrug and get into the boat, sitting next to her. "You've been going through this for how long? And you lost your douche bag of a boyfriend as well, how are you even holding up?" Penny frowns and stands up.
"What did you call him?" She says as she steps closer to me. I frown and cross my arms, I sit up right and puff my chest. "You heard me," I step out of the boat and walk over to her. "A douche bag," Penny and I are scowling at each other.
"You didn't know a thing about Billy," I scoff at her and turn around, "All I need to know is that he's an asshole who is self asorbed and slept with every available woman. Tied down or not, he slept with every breathing woman in Hawkins," I look over at her to see her still scowling and Penny walks over to me. "You knew nothing about him, you don't get to talk about him," Penny grabs my collar and rushes me over to the wooden pillar and slams me against it. I wince in pain as she gets close to my face. "Take his name out of your mouth," She says through her teeth.
I smile at her and take a deep breath, "I may have not known much but I know he was cheating on you the entire time," Penny lets go of my collar with one hand and balls it up into a fist. She pulls her arm back. I brace myself for the blow. I shut my eyes and move my head slightly.
"Penny! Let him go!" I hear Dustin say, I open my eyes to see everyone walk in with bags in their hands. I look at Penny to see her arm still pulled back. Her eyes are full of rage and she's breathing heavy.
"Penelope Harrington, let go," Steve says sternly from behind her, Penny stares at me for a second before letting me go. She turns away and walks towards Steve. I smile at her "You know what I said was true," I call out to her. "Shut up idiot!" They both say looking at me. I raise an eyebrow at them and look towards Dustin, Robin, and Max. "They do it a lot, I think it's a twin thing," Robin shrugs.
Both Steve and Penny walk out the opening behind the the boat, outlooking at the lake. "You brought up Billy, didn't you?" Max says as she sets down her bag full of food on the table by the boat. "That's one thing you don't do, both her and Max are sensitive to that topic, but Penny gets angry when anyone tries to get her to talk about it," Dustin has his back towards me as he's talking.
