EDDIE-
Penny and I lay in that boat for hours talking about life and getting to know each other better.
She showed me the cassette tapes that she carried around in her bag. I swear she has pretty much everything in her medium-sized bag of hers. I'm sure you can fit a whole department store in there and it would look like there's not a thing in there.
I watched her as she started to doodle in her sketchbook. That is until my stomach started to growl.
I got up and stepped out of the boat to go to our snack table only to find we had eaten everything in 24 hours. I purse my lips and look over at her.
"I'm going to go inside his house and find something to eat," Penny looks up at me and pushes her hair out of her face.
"Hasn't he been locked up for a while? Won't there be like expired food or nothing at all?" She asks me smiling confusedly at me. I shrug, "Doesn't hurt to look, and I don't think that your brother will be coming by any time soon," Penny sighs.
She reaches over, grabs my wrist, and pulls my sleeve up. She looks at my watch and sighs. "Yeah, I doubt they'll be here anytime soon unless we ask," Penny looks out at the lake.
"Also the sun will be setting soon, so be quick, I don't need you to get caught," She says as she lets go of my arm.
She grabs her walkie-talkie out of her bag and hands it to me. "Try to get Dustin or Steve on, ask them to bring by food later today or tomorrow morning,"
I take it from her and salute her. She rolls her eyes and smiles at me before looking back down at her sketchbook.
I leave the shed, and make my way to Rick's house. I walk lightly, but quickly, avoiding being seen or drawing any attention to myself.
I walk through his back door, and straight into the kitchen. I pull open a few drawers and look through a few cabinets. I groan before opening another one.
Inside there are seasoned spices and a can of spaghetti-os with cut-up franks. I grab it "Yeah," I snort "You'll do," I say to myself as I slam the doors closed.
I grab a small pot from one of the cabinets I opened earlier, and put it on the stove, lighting it. I open the can and dump the food in there. I stir it around while it heats up. I watch the food in the pot like it's going to grow legs and walk away.
"God this fucking blows," I grab the pot off the stove and take a bite out of the food and grab the walkie that I had set on the counter.
"Hey, Dustin, it's Eddie the banished. Are you there?" I ask. There's no response as I take another bite and walk around Rick's house. It's cluttered. Not messy cluttered, just cluttered. But what more can you expect from a drug dealer who's hiding out here?
I walk over to the front door and peep my head out from behind the curtains. "Dustin, can you hear me?" I ask again. "Dustin?" I say "Earth to Dustin?" I ask again.
What is this kid doing?
"Hey, it's Nancy," I hear from the other side. I raise my eyebrows and smirk "Wheeler! Hey," finally someone answers.
Why is Nancy with Dustin?
"Listen, I'm gonna need a food delivery, like really soon unless you want me to go out into the world," I say as I take another bite.
"No, stay where you are, we'll be there soon," I sigh with relief. "Awesome, also, kinda stupid of me asking, but can you pick me up a six-pack?" I can hear Nancy rolling her eyes at me "A cold beer would help my nerves right about now," Nacy is quiet for a second. I'm sure she's rolling her eyes again.
